For me it will be. I made sure my UI had taxes taken out and never received the initial $600 boost per week, so I only received $10,530.

I filed before I heard they may eliminate taxes on a certain amount, so my return may be even more. I’ll need to amend for sure, but that tax return is the only form of relief I’ll get, so they need to hurry up.

Was meaning to ask this. Seeing as they might eliminate taxes should I file? I chose to take the full amount cause I figured they would do something like this.

If I were you, I would wait until they settle everything. My governor just signed some shyt yesterday that’s going to impact my state return as well. I’m confident I won’t owe anything, but if I knew better I would have waited.

shyt I learned my lesson years back I got my taxes taken out of my unemployment

Told my sister the same thing. She wanted the full amount but shes living with family rent free. She wasnt in the same shoes as other folks who depended on that UI and took the full amount. Told her to take the taxes out so she doesnt have to deal with it that shyt later on.

Governor Hogan (Hoghead) signed similar relief measures as CA. Our comptroller referred to them as “miserly”, plus the info is based on 2019 numbers. Smh.
