The taxpayer loss on the GM bailout is $10.5 billion. The Treasury department said it recovered $39 billion from selling its GM stake, and had put $49.5 billion of taxpayer money directly into the GM bailout.

From Jacobin, The Case Against a Basic Income
I would like an updated version of article to factor in the current health crisis which proves that UBI isn't an anti-union and pro-free market tool, as the above suggestSupport for basic incomes proliferates where neoliberal reforms have been the most devastating.
In this sense, UBI isn’t an alternative to neoliberalism, but an ideological capitulation to it. In fact, the most viable forms of basic income would universalize precarious labor and extend the sphere of the market — just as the gurus of Silicon Valley hope.
lol. No answer, but it's not socialism... we know it's not capitalism or any flavors of it because "freemarket competition" is being frowned upon due to price gauging tactics
So what about communism and socialism and their flavors?
-communism talmbot government taking over private property and control of major productions/manufacturing
-socialism talmbot combine resources so to share the benefits, govnernment administer means of production and distribution of goods
Both are reflecting forms of public ownership, government involvement with markets/industries, and how government asking/instructing/encouraging private companies to behave
When Pres. Obama bailed out GM, the government owned parts of GM
Trump is interested in public ownership for bailed out companies
-All governments are injecting money into their markets when economic problems occur, just like the US does for wall street
-All governments plays a role in researching technology to benefit their manufacturing industry, like initiatives from China(Made in China 2025), Germany(Industre 4.0), France(Industrie du Futur)
Trump administration is asking/instructing/encouraging GM and Ford to use their manufacturing facilities to help produce ventilators
Trump administration is asking/instructing/encouraging two different industries to ramp up production and donate supplies
UBI is a flavor of socialism. The government is distributing/sharing money to all citizens so to administer a productive economy...just like the article below failed attempt to juelz UBI socialist ties, UBI is a “better-balanced capitalism — we would call it everyone-gets-a-share capitalism.”
whether it's Cuba/ronavirus/Hitler/an attractive racist, responsible adults that priorities facts/truths so to solve problems is able to acknowledge both positives/negatives aspects of anything, just like with Capitalism, Socialism, and Communism
what's sad is how aspect of socialism is embraced but the word socialist is shamed. That's propaganda/conditioning and playing politics
I would like an updated version of article to factor in the current health crisis which proves that UBI isn't an anti-union and pro-free market tool, as the above suggest
Capitalism has no "flavor" that encouraged government owning shares in private companies. There's nothing misleading in government selling it's shares of GM. Unless you're about to juelz the meaning of owning sharesIn all those instances, as is the case now, the people or corporations on the receiving end of the bailouts were free to do what they want with the money. Saying the government owned those businesses is misleading and wrong. That’s why everyone is bytching now about what they did with the money.
It’s like saying Hoover was a socialist when he proposed cash bailouts to certain industries during the Depression.
This whole “flavor of socialism” nonsense is exactly that. Nonsense. If you’re free to spend the bailout money how you’d like then the market remains free. Socialism condemns that free market...it doesn’t enable it.
