Wh? It’s unlikely the senate can even pass McConnell’s bill. The house has already passed their bill. Republicans will have to make concessions to win democrat votes in the senate.
Dems have a history of not having the balls to stand up to republicans

Because that's literally what happened last time.
Basically yea, which is why dems won and got the $600 unemployment in that bill.

I’m sure republicans will get a lot of nonsense in this bill but you gotta remember Rand Paul and other right wingers won’t be voting for this. Meaning McConnell will need democrat votes.

Why are you saying “just like last time” when they got $600 unemployment in the last bill lol? That was a huge deal and kept people afloat.
Lets talk about the time when they gave corporations a large slice of the pie (just so that they would go ahead and fire their workers anyways)

aka another bailout

They need to say fukk unemployment and just give everyone $6000 - $8000 and call it a day.

states have already shown they can’t process the shyt in a timely manner anyway.

Direct payments from the feds is the only logical solution. And giving one lump sum payment with take care of the “getting back to work” shyt the republicans are on.

This isn’t rocket science :mindblown:.

At the end of the day, companies may have to lay-off people a second time, then that person will have to go thru hoops again trying to file. A payment of $8000 will at least give most people a 2 to 4 cushion
Why do y’all keep pushing this? This doesn’t help people who lose their job yet are over the income cap for any direct payment. No way in hell they give 6-8k to absolutely everyone. But now someone who made $80k loses their job, they supposed to live off of cali’s $450/wk and also not qualify for the stimulus?

most states have laughable weekly UI benefits, increasing them with fed dollars was the best thing they could’ve done for those who lost jobs. Now also give federal hazard pay to low wage “essential” workers and call it a day.

Cali's limit is $450? :scusthov: I thought SC with 320 was the absolute worst....

If they're not going enforce lock downs and social distancing then this shyt will linger into next year and it won't matter how much unemployment you give.

Right now it's all going to waste. The rush to "open the economy back up" it's whats making shyt worse.

Ironically the very reason republicans are complaining about the $600 a week boost is the reason why it was their in the first place. Too encourage people to stay home.

And if you're going to spend 4 trillion dollars, why not give everyone $8000? Essential workers are fukked. Laid off workers are fukked as well, once this next round runs out. And people will be getting evicted in the middle of winter.

They need to incentive people to stay the fukk home. Give everybody $8,000 and do a complete shut down for 1 to 2 months, then open back up.

This half ass shyt didn't work last time and it won't work again.

They are not giving everyone 8k, they wouldn’t even give everyone 1200.

And when Winter comes, we're going to be in the exact same position. Giving people trinkets will only motivate people to "go back to work" too soon and cases will go up. People will get laid off again or people on unemployment won't be able to go back to work before their benefits run out.

Again, this isn't rocket science. It's basic math. The money was meant to keep people AWAY. $1,200 and some extra unemployment won't do that.

Companies got billions of dollars. They still laid off people anyway. But like everything else, this country will learn things the hard way.
