Dude only coached half the season... Should have been him AND walton
What a joke. Coached half a season. Guys like stotts, Clifford, or Casey should win it

Come on brehs he only missed half the season that shouldn't matter. And he had influence on the team when he was out. Having the best 3 point shooting in league history has nothing to do with it. They're light years ahead remember?

Spurs had their best record in franchise history

Boston made it to the 3rd seed (did they finish 3rd? Don't even remember)

Portland refused to tank and made it to the 5th seed

Toronto once again had their best season in franchise history

Those 3 teams were coached by the same guy throughout the entire season.. Should have given it to one of them. But ah well, this award don't mean nothing of much magnitude I guess

I can't make the case for Pop...dude is considered the de facto best coach in the league...giving him COY every year would be lame...

Should have been Stotts wire to wire...loss his franchise player...then had his entire team blown up...is now 2 - 2 and probably in the drivers seat to go into the second round...

People were also talking about Portland being a lottery team this year...nobody was saying that about the celtics or the raptors or the hornets or whoever you think should have been COY being in the lottery but instead making the playoffs...
