Steve Kerr says that the season is basically over for them, and he's unsure if the warriors will even play but if you read the article you will see he's literally waving the white flag of surrender.

I get it,
technically the season is over for them. However what about those fans that paid for those games. We already see that the sport leagues don't want to refund fans their money. Will the warriors be forced into playing or will this unfortunate hiatus put the team out of it's misery for the year.

Personally I think this layoff is good for their main starters Curry and Thompson, that are both on track to make an impactful return next season.

You can read the story below
Will Warriors play games when NBA restarts? Kerr unsure

Hes not saying the Warriors would refuse to play games, hes saying he doesnt expect the regular season to resume, and go straight to playoffs:

"If the league was somehow to start up again, it's very unlikely we would be playing regular-season games given that they'd be in such a time crunch. Who knows?

"But I'm feeling for all the teams in the fight, in the thick of it for a championship, that are in the playoff race, teams that have put so much into this, and this was obviously a year for us where we were trying to get healthy, trying to develop some young guys. So I'm not concerned about our guys, our team. I feel sorry for the teams that are kind of in limbo right now."

on the surface hes saying it's unlikely but reading deeper into this he's also saying "Look our season is basically over" sure technically it is over but... for him to say that after all those years of dominance calls a lot into question.

I feel like the season will resume because the league wants that TV money, that's why originally they wanted to play the games with no fans in attendance. but either way the fans that actually bought tickets may lose out.

I'm just saying, they've been losing since the onset of the year and all of a sudden it isn't fun for them anymore, they wanna pull the plug after all those years of dominance. Kerr got full of himself once, going to the press saying he didn't feel like coaching vs the suns so he just let Draymond coach and he just sat there laughing, but now it's all good cause we losing? Naaaaa man. They wanted to dish it out when they were on top, but now that they have one down year, the tune switched up.

How do you get that from this?:unimpressed:

Coach Steve Kerr appeared on Howard Beck's "The Full 48" podcast this week, and he spoke about what might happen when the NBA starts playing again.

"Look, for us, our season is basically over," Kerr said.

He's saying teams have like 15-20 games left. If the NBA were to finish the season, they are unlikely to do another 45 days of regular season but instead decide to go straight to the playoffs to ensure that the offseason and 2020-21 season isn't delayed.

He's saying he feels sorry for teams like the Bucks, Lakers, Clippers, the other top teams that were in legit championship consideration because if this season doesn't finish, it's a wasted year that they may not be able to replicate given the offseason.

2 things can be true-
He did say he feels sorry for those teams thats in the race and are in the race and in top contention, but he also mentioned the season being over for the warriors. It makes it seem like he doesn't want to play anymore, or its some type of video game where if you're losing lets just push the reset button, no sir take your lumps, after all the teams that fell in the warriors wake over the years.

No where is he saying he doesn't want to play anymore. He's saying the Warriors season is basically over because they = the league, would likely want to go straight to the playoffs. The Warriors, who have the worst record in the league, would not be in the playoffs if they were to resume and would not be playing any more games this season.

He's not saying the Warriors wouldn't play anymore games because he would stop them from playing.

I doubt the NBA would give a penny back for those cancled games either, just credit the fans for next year and give them a game of the leagues choosing.
