:pacspit: Fukk you, nikka. Big Brun for MVP, fakkit
Honestly if Brunson gets them the 2nd seed in the East, I can see if somebody puts him in the 1 spot.
:salute:
There’s a lot of people hating on the East this year but IMO that’s a greater accomplishment than Jokic’s numbers.

The main media faces for NBA has been terrible..these dudes screaming matches arguing on TV..old heads saying the product is boring, not being impressed, barely knowing players and the pronunciation of their names yet they do this for a living.. I'd be a basketball junkie.. imagine getting paid to watch basketball and know basketball players.

Their lack of enthusiasm infects the fan sometimes. I think that's why there's such a huge shift in media for the NBA with output from players themselves and coaches

To further your point..pretty much they all do the same thing just on different channels and platforms..quick to call each other "new media", going back and forth with the players..I get it "everyone " has voice and deserve to speak their opinions but it becomes damn there toxic to the point they sometimes forget what they are "arguing/debating" about..then everything becomes personal..it's terrible to watch.
Then once you see others who are truly speaking the ins and outs about the game they become overwhelmed with bs that they tend to get drowned out and typically keep their guest appearances on these shows to a minimum because it's pointless and does have a trickle down effect to how people view/consume the game..

That's true.

For years, the NBA media pushed hot takes, storylines/narratives, and off court discussion at the forefront over actual game analysis.

It was quite a novelty at first and pretty entertaining but, after a while, it got old and predictable. Same thing happened with the Breakfast Club. At first, Charla's shock jock and "keeping it 100" schtick was cool but then that got old too.

And I know people will say that SAS is just playing a character and boosting the ratings much like Simon Cowell on American Idol but it's still not a great look when other sports media is more likely to offer in depth analysis of the games. :francis:

The NBA deserves better. It has the most potential in the world and in its home country, the game is marginalized by the idiots who cover it.

These hot take dudes and lazy "analysts" ruined their own futures. Nobody gives a shyt anymore when they can hear wild takes from Rashad McCants and Gilbert Arenas along with funny stories and player experiences.

I keep going back to when Miami knocked us out last year. This man looked into every available camera with the serious face saying he wanted the Knicks to get Lillard, even though Brunson was the best player in that series.

His takes when it comes to the Knicks have been trash for a hot minute

Truthfully he works with broadcasting so much that his takes can’t be based on him watching games.

An analyst should spend significantly more time analyzing than presenting his analysis. And being an NBA (or worse, mlb) analyst takes a lot of time. While this dude tries to be it all, for all teams, while having 3 shows. I’ve questioned his analysis for years, he’s always just racking up stats. If someone slips him completely wrong stats he’ll ride for them like he was commenting the game

I think they wanted to dumb down the fan so the fan didn't understand what they were looking at and any narrative can be pushed. That's why I appreciate these channels that discuss the particulars of the plays so there can be more discernment about what it is that is being looked at.

I also appreciate player discourse for that and also just for the stories that would never come out in it's proper form if it was a news article vs people shooting the shyt

Of course he doesn't. His 'analysis' is never specific and detailed. He just regurgitates whatever that box score tells him, sprinkles in a little trademark shout in there.

Sounds alot like what his former partner does on the other network.
