Not every great player is gonna be on a championship winning team every year. It happens when it happens. It doesnt make them any less impressive as a player on a given night. Dude put up historic numbers in any other sport, hes congratulated no matter how many rings he does or doesnt have.

Westbrook does it and less than 24hrs later SAS is front and center saying fxck this man his whole career is a waste and no one should care about anything he does on the court until he wins a ring. This type of nonsense doesnt happen in any other sport. Either youre an nba champion or youre a worthless statpadder, theres no in between.

I didn't say that. The goal of sports is to win. People lose sight of that. If you average 5 ppg, 2 assists, 1 rebound, 2 steals, 2 blocks, but somehow you make people better, you win championships, etc. as the leader of your team without ever even having a top 10 player on your squad, you're a far greater basketball player than Westbrook. That's what I'm saying. Don't be seduced by numbers without context. You could see it with someone like Jason Kidd. I have infinitely more respect for him as a player than Westbrook.

Ring culture has made the nba such a bad product the last decade or so, I'm concerned what's going to happen going forward. Pundits constantly shytting on guys for not getting it done like everyone can win
