That's the strangest part about it. For some reason, Russ is getting all the blame for the teams failures, while Beal is seemingly getting off scott free of blame as well.

They both deserve criticism for what's transpiring, yet we all know why it isn't happening that way.
Why do you say both deserve criticism

imo neither deserve it,they arent the GM,they didnt build this team

its not their fault Rui got hurt to start the season or that Bryant tore his acl or that the rookie has looked like trash or that Bertans came into the season out of shape

why criticize the 2 people who are actually doing their job?

shyt makes zero sense

Norfeast groovin…
Reading the temperature of this thread tells me that anyone who puts up big numbers and don’t win a ring is putting up empty stats. Or is it only when it comes to Russ we go extra on the meaningless stats?

There’s plenty of players who put up great stats and haven’t won a ring. So we just discount them too with the same energy as we do Russ? Nah we don’t.

They both deserve criticism as they are looked upon as "superstars" yet they are near the bottom of the East. If Bradley Beal is supposed to be this megastar that everybody wants, then surely him and Westbrook combined can will the team to better than what they are now.

Like I said before, how can somebody argue that they deserve to be on the All NBA Team when they have the greenlight to put up superstar numbers on a bad team? A lot of players on bad teams are putting up those type of numbers because they have the greenlight to do so. You can be a #1 option on a bad team and then at most a #2 or #3 option when you move to another. It doesn't necessarily translate when you move to a better team.

Jerami Grant is the perfect example of what I'm talking about and why he wanted to go to Detroit.

I mean basketball players are able to control and affect the flow of a game more than any other sport. So of course IQ is going to brought into the discussion.

People love to brag about how Lebron has a high basketball IQ am I right?
there is no "high IQ" sports discussion going on in any sport on ESPN

that is not what the post was referring to.

he meant the discussion/punditry on ESPN (or surrounding basketball in general) being low IQ, not whether a player has basketball IQ.

i'm saying none of the sports discussion on ESPN is "high IQ" anything.

That's because we've all played a part in it becoming that way. ESPN and the media know what they're doing when they craft and create topics of conversation in the way that they did. Saying the only reason that someone is better because they have more rings isn't necessarily "high IQ" conversation as there a lot of greats that don't have them or have less than others.

It's low IQ conversations because people bring personal feelings and biases into the conversation instead of focusing what happens on the court. Entertainment sales and basketball talk brings in ratings.

And we've allowed "low IQ" conversations to happen in sports and we've created the avenue where it's acceptable in the name of ratings.

Hence SAS is as popular as he is in spite of not knowing shyt about half of what he's talking about lol. It's all a product of our creation.

i don't watch ESPN and haven't since I was in high school, so technically i ain't part of the problem.

anyway my problem was with the poster singling out basketball as if it's the only sport with this type of SAS discussion around it.
