Who in the hell hss CP3 ever shut down?

Everyone goes off on CP3.

its damn near impossible to guard these top tier PGs in todays game.

I don't think you pay attention to defense and just watch the ball or maybe you haven't seen a lot of clipper games. CP3 has done a great job containing opposing PGs and there is even statistical proof of this.

I know Tony Parker is older and injured but there is a reason he just had probably the worst playoff series of his career.

Exactly what I was going to post, but you beat me to it.

People say completely ignorant crap based on their own perceptions or anecdotal evidence, when there is unbiased statistical proof for the opposite staring them right in the face.

On the other hand, here was that runner-up MVP candidate:

Even the Defensive Player of the Year, while defending the three fantasticly, doesn't look quite as good overall as CP3 (though these are last year's stats, not this year).

The article is a good read - it's not just those fantastic shot charts. Chris Paul is proven to be the most elite defensive point guard in the league by just about every available measure, and one of the more effective man-to-man defenders overall.

No player in Franks-Miller is as stingy as CP3, who allowed 11 points per 100 possessions while dealing with ferocious NBA matchups — Damian Lillard, Steph Curry, Tony Parker, et al. — on a nightly basis. Paul’s matchups ended up shooting about 80 percent as much as expected, while Harden’s matchups ended up shooting about 114 percent as much as expected.

Congrats to Steph, well-earned

@Blackthoughts for the record, the Warriors did campaign for Steph and called all 120 voters to make the case for em. At least one voter said it convinced him to switch his vote from Harden to Curry.

Another voter said there was a mistake that led to him leaving Harden off his ballot altogether

I would @ the clown that kept saying Harden would receive less than 5 votes and 4th place, but I dont even remember his name :manny:
I read about that. I'm sure they only did it because Houston was sending out packages for Harden.
