Lol that's the thing. A degree and barely making six figures before/after taxes is nothing to me and not what I would consider successful. Nor is whatever illegal activity allows a person to fly to another country and return with 40k. That's small money and not worth jeopardizing my freedom over.
I'm sure there are people who think six figures is a great benchmark for success; these things are all relative. But does that make them lazy or content? No.
:ehh: I like this. You understand.

It's not about the cars themselves. It's not about pocket watching. Its about having that vision of what YOUR version of success is, and clawing like hell to get there. I don't see the Challenger as success. I want a Vette, simple and plain.

And yes, anybody who leaves opportunity on the table and instead says "nah I'm good with 100k" makes them content. That's the literal definition of the word :russ:

You yourself decided you're not good with just 100k, definitely not good with doing dirt, you have a vision beyond that. Hold on to it.

I can't even front, I have petty thoughts and jealous moments. That was the point of the thread:manny:. But any man who sees people making moves all around them and stays still...is not the type you want to be around.
I can agree with the latter, but the former has been the downfall of many men. I never understood why people busted their ass to prove themselves to people who DOUBT them. I could see if someone was like, bro you are fukking up, you have a lot of potential..... but putting in twork for somebody who shytted on you :dahell:

Sounds like you are headed in the right direction though.... just make sure you keep that rainy day fund tight..... if you are paying more on your car note than your retirement

I singled this post out for a reason. Let me drop some knowledge on your head.

Don't never EVER EVER let somebody tell you that you don't need something you want. You only get to live once, so why sit and let opportunities and experiences pass you by cus "you don't need all that."

That in and of itself is jealousy. Yes I have "nerve." Ima go out into this world and get everything I want and can't a mf alive (cept my mama) tell me shyt.

I will never be satisfied. I could have 10 Aston Martins and guess what, when that new one drops Ima be sitting in one of them counting chips for the next one.

If there were more people trying to get it like me, and not being content like you say, the world would be a better place to be.

You got it.

It's a matter of personal opinion rather than jealousy lil homie, let's not make assumptions here. K young nikka? :takedat:

You shouldn't be jealous of other people because he probably put in some work, beforehand to get that car. Whether it's financed/leased and he worked hard for years to keep his credit decent or worked a few jobs to pay for it in cash. The best thing is, anything someone else has you can have as well. Just a matter of when.

Yes sir 23 years young.

I'm (one of the people) in charge of a district of restruants (won't say the name) in the DFW area. 52K a year base.

On the weekends I'm a cashier at a retail clothes store. S11/hr.

I also help build show cars and race cars when I have time (engines, rear ends, basic transmission work, stereo systems, wheels, suspension etc).

Basically the goal is to make money 24/7 one way or another.
You're very accomplished and ambitious and I salute you bro. Focus on finding something you can monetize with your love of cars. Consider becoming a master mechanic for BMW or Mercedes. Those guys make 6 figures easy.

But fukk all that car chasing. Stick with one nice vehichle and learn to stack away as much as possible. DO NOT WASTE EXCESS MONEY ON WOMEN. They p*ssy isn't worth being perpetually broke.

Again, stack money and look for worthwhile investments. Buying cars every 2 years isn't one of them, unless your flipping them for more cash.

I'm glad to see our respective opinions beginning to align. However, when people use the word "content", it's usually with a negative connotation that suggests the person is underachieving. No one looks at a doctor and says, "Look at that lazy, content nikka." They're not thinking about the six figures worth of debt, the car, clothes, and house that's too big they have because they need to look the part of a "successful" doctor. Many doctors, lawyers, etc are an obstacle away from bankruptcy and ruin.
I'm not debating you, just pointing out that there's a threshold where that word loses relevance and moving beyond that requires something extra that 99% of people don't have. This is why I'm annoyed with any article or thread here in the coli attacking the 1%. Most wealth is NOT inherited, it's created by self-made individuals. And most wealth is gone by the third generation. So no one is hoarding anything. There isn't some cap on the amount of money/assets floating around; nikkas on the coli need to learn that.

When I was 18-19 I used to hook up stereo systems for show cars on the side (my uncle runs a shop). But man mf's is cheap bro. They want you to charge half what everybody else is and do double the work. Plus if any of the bullshyt parts they bring you break down they wanna blame you and put your whole business on blast nowadays. Maybe ill come around to it. Thanks for the positive words brother.
