My father hasn't encountered law enforcement since the late 80s for the most basic, vanilla, mistaken identity stop known to man. No aggression or illegal search and seizure but one of the most demeaning events of his life since they "held him for almost an hour for no reason." My mom feels that police brutality is geared towards "nikkas that do shyt" and don't know how to conduct themselves else most Black people would have negative police encounters. Class protects them and they are relatively isolated from violence and police encounters until they venture outside of their cul-de-sacs into the wrong neighborhoods and associate with the bad element. So until some Hasan Harnett looking/speaking breh is gunned down mistakenly for holding a can of Le Croix water they will only sympathize but have no empathy victims for police violence. Hell I was told not to call them if I get apprehended for something besides self defense and to hang out in the hood, including my shyt relatives, at my own risk.
And just scrolling through the list a lot of these people including that Michelle Lee Shirley Black chick in California, were mentally ill; she attacked law enforcement with her car. A White man, Jay Johannes Holmgren, climbed out of his truck after a police chase and starting shooting at officers. Not to mention the crazy Asian cat Jun Wang attacking officers with a knife. These nikkas watched that Cleo Death Scene from Set It Off far too many times.
They really need to bring back the state ran mental institutions. Can't keep drugging and beating/killing these people.
Seems like Nebraska and Wyoming has it right.
