I read a few so i'll try not to repeat some...

As of now, Kendrick is extremely overrated to me.
That doesn't necessarily mean he's no good, but I laugh at people who can really sit there and tell me GKMC is a classic. What he does have is creativity and substance, but people are taking that wayyyyyy too far. He is NOT this super lyrical monster the internet depicts him to be, nor does he have an immaculate mic presence. It seems like everyone enjoys when he goes on his little mumbling barrage or whatever, some songs he has are pretty dope, but people need to chill. Let his music grow and stop putting him on this pedestal already...

The West Coast is buzzing with talent. Alchemist with Evidence, Exile and Fashawn, Murs, even the Black Hippys. (So far i've only listened to K.Dot and Schoolboy) I have high hopes for them dudes.

The East coast is slacking. Besides our heavy hitters, I don't see anything new to my liking. Outside of Action Bronson and Pyramids, i'm not feeling shyt. Not too long ago someone put up a video of a group rapping on the roof of a building, it was like 4 of them. shyt was tight, can't remember who they were though. They had crazy views on youtube, someone hook me up with some new east coast music!!!

The big difference between It was written and Illmatic is how Nas was able to make concept tracks. As amazing Illmatic is, songs like Black Girl Lost, If I ruled the world, I gave you power, etc, was Esco writing ACTUAL songs. In my eyes, songs like Suspect was created in a prime Esco, messing around with his rhyme schemes, vocal pitch, entendres, etc. You can't ever take anything away from Illmatic, but It was written was Nas sort of growing up to me, even with all the :duck: in it.

It'll take some time to realize, but I think Lupe is the next goat. Also, it appears hes still in this "prime" state. Ever seen him perform live? Dude is a monster, he can spit EVERY verse solo, no hype man, no fukking up, and what else? Dude is lyrical and has SUBSTANCE. I know the average coli poster don't rock with him, but F&L2 was crazyyy to me. At least half the album, 1-9, was beastly. What I like about it is that Lupe is actually talking to people. ITAL, bytch Bad, Strange Fruition, Heart Donor, Lamborghini Angels are WILD. A lot more "realer" than Nas the don fukking bytches on condominium roof decks, you know?

I feel as though Lupe and Saigon travel the same path, I loved Greatest story never told. Never listened to Saigon's new shyt, scared to death of that sophomore album jynx :bryan:

I haven't listened to the Chronic so I really don't hold it to high regards.

Tupac was ok on the mic. His thought provoking scribes were good but people are more in love with his image. I always thought from a technical standpoint, Biggie was a better rapper. Tupac just captured emotion alot better.

I don't think Jay-z is top 5. Maybe top 10 but not top 5. Most of his status is attributed to his wealth and fame not his music. Most Jay-z fans know more about his stock profile than his music. They are also as self absorbed as he is.

Nas won
