In basketball it’s a defensive end and an offensive end. T-Mac was better offensively than both and could match pippen defensively if needed. I think he could have been better than pip. Defense was his role in Toronto.Man, what???
that means they couldn’t match him as an overall player.

T-Mac wasn’t a great defender. Saw that first hand in Houston. He put out effort from time to time, but nobody was scared to take him 1 on 1. Scottie is one of the greatest defensive wings ever to play the game…particularly his years in Chicago. A LEGIT LOCKDOWN defender in an era of legendary players. I think I’m more puzzled as to how you just piss on the fact that Dominique a top 15 scorer all time, but somehow….i guess because he could hit the 3…McGrady was better offensively. ‘Nique was damn near unstoppable anywhere near the basket, had a mid-range game, and attacked the boards as well. ‘Nique was also more aggressive than McGrady defensively and would block shots.
I swear the Dominique disrespect is amazing…..

His career defensive metrics aren’t good if you think Bird is just trash talking.
Even in his NBA.com bio where former teammates and opponents (who are more likely to be kind) talked about his defense it was on some wishy washy he gets a bad rep shyt.

Kevin Willis: He was so gifted athletically, he could do anything he wanted. Then on defense, when Nique wanted to play defense, he could play defense. Everybody didn’t want to give him credit on that end but Nique could play some defense for sure.
Jeff Twiss: I though his defense was good. I think that he and Larry both had a similar trait, though I bet many people would disagree with me. I think they were great team defensive players. Individually they weren’t the greatest, but team defensively they could fill lanes and do that.
Nique is pretty much Melo status historically as far as ranking.
