They’ll have to share credit like when Peyton Manning and Steve McNair shared the MVP award in 2003. Never seen a treasured IP get butchered like this before. In just 2 movies they managed to destroy all the good will that the previous films spent decades building. Lack of continuity with introducing new concepts that creates glaring plot holes in past movies at a level Michael bay and the guy who made the resident evil movies would cringe at. Someone dig up the gif of Steph Curry, KD, and Klay Thompson all shocked and disgusted one after another.

MauLer is gonna have a field day too. He did the usual angry obscenity filled hour long “an unbridled rage” review and then a 3 part with each part being 90 minutes minus the language picking apart literally every scene of the last movie. If this one creates this many retroactive plot holes as it sounds, everyone involved in the writing needs to be blackballed from any future writing gigs. George must be rolling over in his grave watching what they’ve done to his series. This is far worse than what 343 industries did with halo 5, and that’s a step by step guide on how not to write a story.

The star of force awakens reduced to bumbling sidekick, the top bad guy dead with no explanation for who he is or where he came from or anything, the other two beaten and humiliated every scene they’re in, Poe being reduced to a glorified extra to be embarrassed by a lesbian bookstore owner archetype and then sit in the corner, Rey being confirmed as a cardboard cutout Mary Sue, Luke being a miserable hermit who ran away to die and stays that way all movie, and the good guys being reduced to 15 people on an old freighter ship at the end. This movie never had a chance once it’s predecessor was made. fukk, now it’s really starting to hit me that Halo 6 is fukked the same way this movie was :francis:. How was Disney so incompetent that they allowed these movies to be made without anything even closely resembling a coherent vision from start to finish in mind? It’s even worse when you think about how they bought marvel studios and left Kevin Feige to run the show and stick to his vision. It’s like how James Dolan leaves the rangers management to run the team but has spent the last 20 years sabotaging the knicks :heh: :mindblown:

Left the trilogy in such a bad place they had to bring back a nikka that exploded twice to save them. Imagine all these trailers without Palpatine. shyt would be dry as fukk. JJ and Kathleen should be thanking Ian McDiarmid everyday. He can't save this mess but he kept it from going completely up shyt's creek.

I didn’t see any of the trailers, but his being in this movie ruins everything from the first 6 movies. No explanation will be good enough for him surviving being thrown down that shaft and blowing up on the Death Star, let alone surviving its destruction. Then there’s the concept of him having a family and having them hide his grandchildren from him like how Vader’s kids were hidden from him? That’s every bit as stupid as the new writers and directors for the last pirates film writing Barbosa as having a daughter he sent away to keep her safe from himself. Complete lack of understanding of the source material and this all reads like a bad fan fiction. The more I think about it, bringing him back is one of the worst things they could have done. It would be like if marvel brought back Thanos some 10-15 years down the line in the same universe. It makes just as little sense and cheapens the story that centered around him as the bad guy all the same.

It’s as egregious and disrespectful as the last terminator movie having another Arnold model terminator show up with no explanation, kill John Connor on the beach, walk away, and develop a conscience and raise a family while then sending Sarah the coordinates of other terminators when they travel back in time for her to destroy them while at the same time, a whole new AI network rises up in the future since there’s no more skynet and it does all the same exact things and sends a machine back to kill the new resistance leader, rendering John and Sarah worthless as characters to prop up the new resistance leader. These last two movies simultaneously managed to also do that with Luke, Leah, Han, Obi-Wan, Yoda, Anakin, and the whole Jedi order to prop up Rey.
