The Star Wars episodes have been pretty much a Skywalker affair from the prequels, the OT, to now and it doesn't look like that's changing anytime soon

He just doesn't seem intimidating to me, but we'll see. Darth Maul gave me chills when I first saw him and he had such an aggressive fighting style.

I just don't really care for the mask/helmet. I've always thought it's a little goofy.

I agree. That being said, I do think there is a chance of Finn being a Skywalker (Luke has been off decades without anyone knowing where and Leia and Han weren't together leading up to TFA) .... Even if he isn't, it's still possible to be a lead character, even a very powerful force sensitive lead, without being a Skywalker. Think Obi-Wan X 10.
