timeline question, and, i think this is answerable without spoilers

obviously battle of yavin is 3 years away starting with episode 4 of this season of andor.

What are Leia and luke doing, and what year is Rouge One? 2 BBY? 1? Obviously that's the bridge to Episode 4, but my real question I guess is, how long is the time of Episode IV? Leia Organa should be a known factor considering they all died to give her the plans to the death star...no mention of her yet by Mothma.
they’re teenagers at this time, maybe 15 years old at most. Luke’s being a hillbilly learning to fly trainers and yearning for the stars and Leia is being a princess being molded by her fathers politics at this time

Rogue One ends almost immediately, days at most, before A New Hope begins. Battle of Yavin occurs less than a few months, could even be days after the start of that movie. There some discussion about time delay during Luke’s journeys with the crew on the millennium falcon that’s the only unknown.

I suppose I underestimated Luke and Leia's youth. If they're like 19 in episode 4 that makes sense. Plus yeah, Luke is just a farmer who looks at the moons at that point

Mai Pei's rebellion's infighting didnt go over my head. I knew they represented the rebellion's own infighting between the various groups. When they spent so much time fighing, I was yelling at the tv "Yall nikkas need to worry about that damn monster eating the bodies, he gonna kill yall :gucci: "
shonuff the monster got them and I was like "Told yall dumbasses, now all yall dead :martin: "
I didnt realize til I saw a post that the monster represents the empire and how it killed the 2 rebel leaders first:wow:

I've been thinking about the rebels on Yavin 4 alot. Andor says that the guys on Yavin 4 are the Maya Pei Brigade.

Back in Season 1, Saw said "Maya Pei is a neo-Republican". That means that their goal (unlike Andor, Saw, the Separatists, Human Cultists and the other factions) is specifically to restore "The Republic" back to what it was before it was changed into "The Empire". When Andor says he has been fighting "this fight" since he was a little kid, he's including his tribe and Ferrix fighting AGAINST the Republic as part of "this fight". It's pretty clear to me that a lot of people in this universe still consider "The Republic" and "The Empire" to be the same thing. E.g. Dedra says when she was 3 she grew up in an "Imperial Kinderblock"...but when she was 3 years old that was before Palpatine had declared himself Emperor so technically it was a Republic Kinderblock :ohhh:.

What we know from other Star Wars stuff is that the "Rebel Alliance" that Mon Mothma becomes the head of is short for "The Alliance to Restore the Republic". Also, when Andor takes off at the end of the 2nd Episode we see not only that he was on Yavin 4, but that he was also at the exact same spot as the "Rebel's Hidden Fortress" from Star Wars.

What that means to me is that the idiots on Yavin 4 playing space Rock Paper Scissors are the same organization that Mon Mothma will take control of and make the dominant faction over all the other factions fighting against the Empire. THESE guys are the core of the group we're going to see wearing the orange jumpsuits and flying the X-Wing fighters 3 years later.

So I'm guessing this season is going to have to show us how Separatists, terrorists, cultists, etc. somehow all got forced into line behind the neo-Republican team.

I might dive deeper into star wars stuff after this though, seems clone wars gets great reviews and I follow a podcast that does a deep dive on the series. So will probably check that out.

I was mainly referring to this scene at 2:05:

Saw names all the separate different "rebel" groups fighting the Empire...and why he thinks all the other groups other than his own terrorist group are a bunch of BS.

Anyway...just now I found a Reddit thread breaking the different rival "rebel" groups down:

What's the cannon regarding the X-Wing? I've been wondering when the Rebellion gets a hand on them or if they had to actually build them (and if getting a hand of that imperial ship had anything to do with it) :patrice:

That is an interesting point. We definitely seen how these smaller groups in the prequel show/movies are either hostile to each other our inadvertently sabotage each other. Some of them are goofs and some of them operate at a higher level but it doesn’t matter because they aren’t organized or communicate with each other.

It’s a consistent theme and it actually hurts them as much as if not more than what the imperials can do because they aren’t organized barely blips to the imperials.

I love this show and rogue one because it explains how it is possible for these regimes to grow and maintain power. In season one when them rich people were joking saying republic or empire its just a name change justs shows that money is always behind the scenes influencing things.

U cant control an entire galaxy with just force powers and bullying. U need nationalism, propaganda and a common enemy to blame for everything wrong with the world.
