The complaints i'm hearing tell me the audience isn't prepared for mature starwars content. You got half the people saying its boring because i'm assuming they need more lightsaber action to stay vested. Other are complaining its too violent for kids. Complained about the imperial being evil and trying to assault a woman. :mjlol:

But critically this series is great. No better acting you will find in any other starwars project, best dialog, unpredictable but intriguing plot. This is a classic spy thriller, with a rebellion war backdrop. Its like a scorcese film in space. But i get it, some mom watching this with her kids will prefer pod racing and cute droids.
and a casual action movie fan who just wants his latest wwe matchup ani vs kenobi. mando vs gideon etc wouldn't care about detailing the machinations of the empire.

but honestly if you didn't watch rogue one or didn't like it. Why are you even here? Its a prequel/continuation of that spinoff film.

boring show :yeshrug:
Honestly, if you find the dialogue boring, you should drop because it simply isn't for you. Plain and simple.

I loved Andor as a big Star Wars fan. But honestly, the majority of the fanbase doesn't deserve this type of series. Seeing content creators trying to bash it is so weird to me.

Crazy thing is, you can still enjoy this, if you like story, w/o watching/caring for rogue one or star wars. I hadnt watched rogue one til after I seen S1. Im not a star wars head, so a bunch of lil stuff probably going over my head, which is where some podcasts come in handy. I just fukk with the story heavy because it's top tier writing/acting. Looking forward to what Gilroy does next.

I think I read somewhere that Gilroy went out of his way to make sure this isnt the standard star wars shyt.

Good writing is good writing no matter the setting. My old folks never really cared about Star Wars or comic book movies but they fukking loved (on some :ohhh: :wow: level) Andor season 1 and The Penguin.

Plus, I imagine the younger audience now that is lukewarm with Andor will come back to it later at a different time and gain a better appreciation for it. 2nd watch of S1 is where everything clicked for me.

its like they didn't realize (or accept) how absolutely evil the empire and its generals were, or how unorganized, rag tag, and fukking LUCKY the rebellion was. If not for luke skywalker Vader and Palpatine still run shyt

timeline question, and, i think this is answerable without spoilers

obviously battle of yavin is 3 years away starting with episode 4 of this season of andor.

What are Leia and luke doing, and what year is Rouge One? 2 BBY? 1? Obviously that's the bridge to Episode 4, but my real question I guess is, how long is the time of Episode IV? Leia Organa should be a known factor considering they all died to give her the plans to the death star...no mention of her yet by Mothma.

Rogue One ends minutes/hours before Episode IV. This first episode of this current season of Andor is 4 years before Episode IV (4 BBY) so Leia is 15 years old, probably learning the ropes from Bail.

I'd be surprised if we don't get at least a mention of Leia from Mon Mothma or Luthen in the last batch of episodes (9-12) because she absolutely was a player by that time.

More likely Bail Organa. Leia only gets mentioned indirectly in Rogue One. By that point the Empire's ISB has tightened it's grip everywhere, Rebellion leaders have to compartmentalize everything for fear of Imperial spies, and Leia herself being used to carry data plans/find Kenobi is pretty much a desperation play.

Well Star Wars & Comic Book Movies are kind made to be easily digestible by the masses. Much like how typical Shounen Manga & Anime are. (Not shounens like Frieren).

I do think Andor can lowkey be a great entry point for people that didn't grow up with the OT and never cared for Star Wars since I don't think the prequels are a good starting point in the franchise. Hell, I would argue Clone Wars is better, though the one issue is Maul's character.
