Something is definitely off. Why is the vast majority of Square's software just remasters and remakes of old games?
This isn't true.Thats every company, square puts out far more new games (non-remakes or remasters) than even capcom does
This isn't true.
Star ocean is a series that I don't understand lasting past the ps2 era. Series is consistently mid. The second story is probably the series magnum opus and still is just alright.
Still cap.Theres not even nothing to debate here.

Deflecting and pointing to Capcom doesn't make my statement untrue. And utilizing you're back catalog and what SE are doing is totally different. Who are all these companies that are literally trademarking re-releases with things like HD-2D? Make a list..I'll wait.Thats over the course of multiple years, the majority of their yearly output is still new stuff. Again, i can make a pretty damning list for other companies like Capcom also. Square is doing what most companies with a huge catalogue of classic games are doing.
Theres not one company that isn’t utlizing their back catalogue in remasters and remakes, even Nintendo

Square Enix Is Looking Into More HD-2D Remakes Of SNES ClassicsYou said, “something is off” and im telling you it’s not off, its a trend for the entire industry to utilize their back catalogue with increased development times of their mainline games. It’s not deflection, its directly addressing your ‘concern’
and what re-releases are using the HD-2D trademark aside from Live A Live which was a direct request from Nintendo?
