You guys clearly don't listen to Star's shows, he knows waaaaaaaaaaay more about the new artists than Joe. He was just spitting Trippie Redd lyrics on his show the other day. He follows new Hip Hop very closely.

this is true. and it's what i mean when i say this was a brilliant move by complex. star can do the salacious moments like joe. but the difference is, most of those moments with joe come from a place of emotion; he genuinely feels that way, regardless of his knowledge on the subject. star is a practiced member of the media, with decades of experience spent honing his craft. he does his homework, he makes sure he knows his shyt before speaking, and when he hates he's coming with an informed opinion, regardless of whether or not you agree. it's a different level from what joe brings, although with joe his emotion creates moments that i dont think anyone can replicate.

the only potential issue for the show going forward will be if star still resonates with the type of audience that will be tuning in. does today's audience understand that he's the blueprint for all this hip-hop hating shyt?

it will be interesting to see how viewership fares with him in the chair. because they wont lack for great soundbytes.
