You try doing drop sets or changing the exercises for those muscle groups?

Just doing the same thing over and over your body adjusts to it. You gotta throw it off.

And like these guys said, eat, rest, perhaps take some vitamins. Do yo supplement at all?

I'm a little bit of an ego lifter. I always try to hit new PRs all the time, and I can safely say that dropsets are one of the best ways to build strength in my opinion. Very underrated strategy.

I know what you mean, I came from a track back ground so pr's were a huge part of that culture.

Those extra drop set reps just have the working weight feeling much more comfortable the next time around.

Do you lift to failure?

Yeah I usually do, but lately I've been trying to not do that as much. Trying to leave more in the tank for recovery cause I'm trying to get serious about running again. I find if I kill myself with lifting to failure all the time I get those over-training sensations.

Increase your calorie intake.. The more mass you put on the stronger and more energy you have to lift certain weight. You should be eating at least 4000 calories a day unless you're cutting

And what is you setxreps look like,.. 3 sets of 10? 4 sets of 8? 5 sets of 5? Etc

I would also suggest you implement isometric exercises as well

http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/shortcut-to-size.html

I know a lot of people that use this one or tailor their program from this one to start out.

Breh goes into a lot of the science of micro cycling, different rep ranges, muscle confusion, nutrition etc.

:banderas: at blaha's 5x5. You're gonna make it. Just keep the calories up, keep eating macro-rich food, and keep training.

That program is one of the best

After a quick deload day I think I narrowed the problem down to a weak core. Gonna add some to my off days and see how it effects my form/progress

If you're at a plateau, then personally yeah it might help...

Some bodybuilders be on a 7000 calorie a day... That's personally too much but when I was trying to play football it was close to 4000 when bulking.

Either that or switch up the exercises while working the same muscles... Like load up machines instead of flat bench for a weak

And that's a good routine... I like it but you should probably only cycle. I haven't done it in years but do like 4 weeks of heavy, 4 weeks of moderate, and 2-4 weeks of light weight high reps.

But the compound 5x5 is watsup.. Preached heavy on this site but it'll get you right. Maybe take a week or 2 off from it and work with Dumbbells or cables, then hit it again

There's multiple ways to get around a plateau.

- Higher cavory intake
- cycling
- light weight high rep training weeks
- dropsets
- switching equipment (machines, Dumbbells, barbells)

When I was serious I had light week, moderate week, light week, heavy week and one month would be Dumbbells, one month machines, one month barbells, etc..

Many creative ways to get that workout in... Also add a lol more exercises depending on the day... Especially back
