I didn't watch the video but I will say BET is probably one of the lamest channels on cable right now....

I literally can't tell you one good thing about BET other than The Game and even that's kinda weak now. But I'm sure she wants BET gone for racial reasons.

What she and white America act like they don't understand (even though the very well do) is that BET and Black History Month was created because of institutional racism. They say this like "Its a double standard. If it were the other way around then black people would be up in arms." When they are trying to disregard the fact that it is VERY MUCH the other way around already and BET and Black History Month is the result of it.

I don't want there to be a BET or a Black History month either. What I want is accomplishments of black people to be valued, represented and awarded alongside all the best works of every other group of people to showcase our talent instead of being systematically shut out and cherrypicked. What I want is for African Americans history to be taught in its fullest alongside everything else in the history lessons concurrently with everything that was going on in this country, as well what REALLY happened that got us over here in the first place. Until these things happen, we will have segregation in this regard because WE don't have the power to change how things are done. But we are trying to BUILD enough power to FORCE the people who have the power to change, to do it.

It's because even to this day black people aren't represented fairly on other stations. It's the same reason there was the "Negro Basketball Association". It's not as extreme of a reason, but it's still sad so see how far we haven't come.

I'd like BET to go in a route to showcase black faces on television in different ways.

I'd feature these shows on the Network.

Focus on different groups of black people who have different interests.

1.Have a movie night of course, they usually do this anyway.

2. You want reality TV? Bring back College Hill. I though it was a good alternative to Real World. Was entertaining. The first season of Hell Date was funny too.

3. Have Def Comedy Jam as well as Def Poetry Jam featured

4. Bring back Rap City for the music block. Also bring back Midnight Love

5. Cartoons/Anime, tv dramas, music, reality tv, sitcoms, poetry, stand up comedy, sit down discussion shows, a show about video games, a cooking show, a fitness show, a hair show showing how to take care of black hair(men and women) and also showing grooming tips for both men and women,etc.

Our race is diverse, that needs to be showcased.

Have an animation block for the younger ones too.

We will watch it in droves on other stations but one is on bet all of a sudden it's garbage

BET used to play(or still does?) play The PJs but the focus of that channel is

I haven't tuned in to BET for years now. Used to be on Hell Date, College Hill, Rap City, Uncut, Comic View, Somebodies, 106 and Park(before it fell off). Before that Cita's World, Hits From the Street, etc.

So much potential for that channel.
