According to his point and this forum, there is no black wealth because according to him we have been passive and content with white supremacy since after the Civil rights movement. My point was that we aren't passive and that White supremacy won't allow us to gain the equal footing we need in order for our community to grow economically independent. That's why it needs to be dismantled first.

Do y'all think white people learn anything from stuff like this? They're literally having the same counterpoints to different arguments that they've had for like 5 years now. Is there anything being learned??
No, they have brainwashed our people so much, the only option left is to completely separate from them which isn't going to happen, anything else is hogwash.
Our people love them too much and don't want to give up those trinkets and fake comfort.
Going hard on them like these broads are doing is just for temporary warmth, nobody is willing to give up on the so called goodies they get especially all the entertainment.

They learn Black people's arguments so they can refine their own strategies. The idea of their being white allies is silly. Just be a decent human being, you don't need to be an ally.

I don't recall seeing the bolded at all in this thread, and it would be a semantics point even if it were.
Truth is this community IS passive. Its been passive. What has been the most proactive step taken toward "dismantling white supremacy" in the past 30 years?(the sheer vagueness of this term/course of action is more proof of passivity and lack of initiative imo). I mean earlier in ITT you were posed a similar question and the best reply you could come up with was Rodney king where dudes were robbing, looting and burning their own neighborhoods to the ground in anger .
On and off pro-blackness/wokeness movements, reluctance to boycott/challenge racist institutions vs advocating for acceptance, highest and most frequent demographic of social media users, no structure, no positive culture shifts no nothing.

Now about our "passivity". We are in a thread discussing a brehette who is using her youtube and social media to keep people informed and aware. According to the person I originally quoted that is not enough. He also thinks that after the Civil rights movement all black people are laying down and accepting white supremacy when that is untrue. I gave him examples. We are in a better position than our ancestors because they placed us here. We are more conformable but we are still their kids, grandkids and great grandkids. Different times just call for different approaches

I been posting on this forum for a while, I never mistook it for advocacy tho. We just expressing ourselves here same as her.
I've watched this whole "staywoke" phenomena play out in social media (it's never that pronounced irl) since trayvon. I was excited and hopeful back then that we were turning a corner.
Now? I'm not moved by all the woofing anymore. #BlackLivesMatter (the hashtag not the group) was the last good thing to come out of it and it was co-opted immediately. Social media cares more about fukkery than progress, look at this forum if you need a reminder.
