I mean Silver Surfer was chosen by an aspect of the universe because he sacrificed himself for his planet. Dr. Strange worked hard to learn all those spells and Thanos is not only an alien, but a mutant of his species. Even Goku trained his ass off for years.
Quasar was literally just some bummy low-level SHIELD operative who couldn't hack it and happened to be near the right dead guy at the right time
