Square should officially retire Final Fantasy

It's been over brehs. They're just destroying it's legacy. Nothing they make will ever capture players' hearts like FFI-FFX did. FFXII while good, didn't leave an impression like the older FFs, and FFXIII was a complete joke. Then they went and ruined it even more by giving it sequels.

Square should retire the name and make a completely new IP and rebuild it's fandom and make a new legacy with their new younger staff and ideas. They're literally just milking off what the older staff did and just using the legendary name for money. It's not the same anymore, and instead of trying to limit themselves by creating games with the old FF trademarks, they should just do what comes to them and perfect the type of games they're good at.

I love Persona as much as the next guy, but Final fukking Fantasy, what pretty much introduced and made us all fall in love with the JRPG genre, should never have be runner-up to it. And at this point it is.

For the record, Microsoft holds the rights to those two titles (Blue Dragon and Lost Odyssey) so any sequel would be Xbox exclusive. To fill a void, its a no brainer. Sony will be getting there share of exclusives in that genre. Can't wait...

Every since I played Persona 4 I stopped giving a fukk about FF. They lost with me with FFXIII.

FFXV is more like to me right now.

nikka thats like telling capcom stop making shytty resident evil games and wack reboots. These companies will do whatever to make a dollar they don't give a fukk if it tarnish the name. Even if they did make a new rpg ip they're probably scared it'll flop. Theres great AAA games that flop so most companies are shook to do any type of vanity project. I don't think rpgs are the go to genre like it was back in the 90s. Dudes wanna bicycle kick zombies and be war heroes. They just stick with the FF name because regardless of quality the games will still sell off the name.

Funnily enough...last night i was watching the last 2 hrs of FF9 (had it on in the background while drawing stuff) and whilst it was playing i was thinking "damn...how come the music, character design, level backgrounds are lightyears more interesting than what we got in FF13 and what we've seen so far in FF15...sh1t don't make sense"

I remember i hated it back in the day that square went from trying to be realistic in FF8 to going all cartoony in FF9 but i'd welcome that in a heartbeat for FF16 cos it'd force them latent pedo designers to think out the box with their character designs and stop making b1tchass boy band members. Where's a character like vivi? quina? sh1t even a amarant ffs?

The original was a PSP game. I'm passing on it.
