You just answered your own question. They know he wants to go there. So either pay the price or wait. All the stories didn't say they were waiting
Magic just said yesterday that they won’t make any rushed moves and they are looking at 2018 or 2019 to do a free agent splash ... so really the year sound like a team that realizes that there’s no reason to give up the farm for a guy you can simply sign outright Next summer ... the spurs better hope that Lebron & PG are on their way to LA ...now that if it happened imo would motivate the lakers to give up the farm fasho

We'll see. The reports say otherwise

City of Angels :blessed:
that's retarded to say because no one thought Kawhi would be at the level after his rookie year or 2nd year.

And he's a rare case. How many guys ever turn out like that?

You already know what he is now. None these dudes on the Lakers have shown franchise player potential. They can't afford to sit around waiting for these nikkas forever. It's a legacy team that needs stars.

Why? What leverage do the spurs have ... everybody knows he wants to go to LA

Everybody “knew” that George wanted to go to the Lakers last season. Now supposedly he’s seriously considering staying put in OKC (God knows why)

The point is that ANYTHING within the league can change given a moments notice. If the Lakers don’t want to hedge their bets on what “might be” this summer (or beyond) and focus on what CAN be right now, that could make them desperate, which gives the Spurs the leverage.

Yea problem is that the difference is cats like Paul George are dumb and emotional. We already knew that when he tried to pay a stripper to get an abortion, then knocked her up again.

Kawhi is a different cat, dude a fukkin weirdo. You can't compare him to other nikkas in the L. He seem like the type of guy that ain't gonna budge from his convictions for anything. If he wants to do something, he's not going to be swayed in any way shape or form.

None of these dudes have shown franchise player potential yet Ingram at 20 in his 2nd season showed more than Kawhi at 21 in his 2nd season or Giannis at 20 in his 2nd season AND Harden at 21 in his 2nd season.

Brandon Ingram his 2nd season: 16/5/4 on 47/39/68

Kawhi his 2nd season: 12/6/1.6 on 50/37/82
Giannis his 2nd season: 13/7/2.5 on 49/16/74
Harden his 2nd season at 21: 12/3/2 on on 43/39/84

That's how dumb it looks to predict a career after their 2nd season.

Look at all those rare cases :dead:

You mean to tell me all those 3 guys were predicted to be franchise players after those numbers and production after their 2nd season but Brandon Ingram whose numbers blow theirs out the park can't be one.

Ok...

Despite BI showing he's already a better scorer than Giannis and Kawhi by his 2nd season (Harden was a better scorer by his 2nd season but also a year older). BI showed hes a better playmaker than those 2 even right now, forget by their 2nd season

LeBron is not going to LA regardless what Lakers do with Kawhi . .. so this is really about if the Lakers are willing to jettison roster/asset flexibility to hope PG is willing to play with Leonard.

That's the bottom line.

I suspect Paul Goerge is not willing to give up his 5th year option and appropriately so since he's had a major injury already.

Lakers out here looking like a thot.

They need to play is cool like the Spurs. Develop their own talent and let Kawhi eventually force his way out SA and pair him with the young talent and reevaluate FA next summer.

OK and? Andrew Wiggins rookie year shytted on all these dudes, and guess what, he still boof.

These "look at what player X did at the same age as player X" did comparisons are pointless.

I'm not saying it's IMPOSSIBLE for Ingram to become a Kawhi level player, but the odds are not on his side. And even if he does, can Magic afford to wait 5 years to get there?
