Play for losers or be a David West on a contending team? His choice but he won't be remembered as a winner anywhere besides the bank.
Money> not playing any mins and getting a ring. It won't mean a thing to a guy like Vince if he can't contribute. Warriors needed West to play since they were thin at the front. They won't need Carter. If he wants to spend his last few years playing instead of sitting, can't blame him. :yeshrug:

Playing time chaser**he did say he would rather play than sit on the bench, with contenders he would be riding the bench mostly

Gotta admire that a lil bit, wants to contribute and earn a ring. Not ring chase being some end of the bench 12th man non- factor. Problem is, don't think any contending team is willing to offer him that role. So he goes after the best combo of available PT & money. Cant really fault him for that :yeshrug::manny::ehh:

Although seeing him bounce around the league as a journeyman with no jewelry to show for it does make feel some kinda way :francis:

Uncertain grounds
Nah. His choice, his legacy. I'm just saying his name would have more cache if he won a title...regardless of how he won it.

Eh not really.

Payton won a ring with the Heat and he actually contributed but I don't think it really added much to his legacy. His performance in the finals against the bulls in a losing effort was more commendable imo
