I'm old and vaguely can remember the end of magics career, these cats were born in the 90's magic was done when they were babies or before they were born

That being said I wouldn't underestimate magic,the lakers have the most dough to spend they can easily put together a fringe contender built around lebron and get kahwi next summer

you think Mozgov/Deng year was the only year Jim had final word? That's propaganda by LA media, Jeanie owns all the journalists always feeding them stories about her brother. Jimmy was at every meeting, every year. In 2014 Rich Paul met with Jim and Mitch not just Mitch.
Plus what did Mitch do when he got to Charlotte? He grabbed Mozgov.....so no way it was just Jim that lead us down that Mozgov/Deng path. Both Jim and Mitch were desperate for not signing anybody so they jumped the gun on Moz/Deng just to say they got somebody.

Nah, we come up on Simmons and Fultz in that scenario. Throw in Saric. They can have Mills too.
Edit: Semi-joking, but since ESPN trade machine down, can't play with the numbers. But if you're Philly and can get Bron and Kawhi teamed up with Embiid and Covington, why not go for it. Let Chip teach Simmons and Fultz how to shoot.

The Lakers can sign players but they're always desperate for the biggest name free agent to sign there and make them relevant. They have been striking out because other teams can give the players a chance to compete for something.

People respect Magic as a business man. He knows how to talk to great players that want to win because he was a great player who won.
At the same time guys like Bron already know what they want around them in order to succeed. Magic would matter when it comes to guys like Kawhi, PG, etc. But Magic isnt day to day ops hes just a front man and none of those active players have Brons business acumen or marketability.
Bron has a list of requirements that must be met and with PG signing to OKC and the Spurs unwillingness to trade Kawhi, Bron aint coming this year.

Breh even the Bynum for Kidd trade was rejected because Jim Buss called the shot on that. We drafted Bynum because Jim Buss said so. We rejected the Melo-for-Bynum trade because Jim Buss said so (both PJ and Kobe gave the green light to make the trade). All the long time scouts that got fired after Jerry Buss did, Jim did all of that shyt.
Theres no way you're going to tell me Jim Buss was VP since 2005 and never made a final decision on anything until 2016. It's well documented too theres been plenty of articles about Jim's influence on the franchise during his reign.
Unless they tryna take more than Kawhi back. San Antonio got too many guards/forwards already. this is assuming anderson and bertans come back. They got 9 guards under contract already lol
But of course, I'm sure free agency allows you to trade and immediately flip, right? Trade for Fultz and flip him for a 1st rd pick
