Very dope fukking movie, I'd read enough to know I was interested but not that much...The cinematography was amazing, gorgeous shots of the Florida coast, at night, dusk, the pastel/neon colors very reminiscent of 'Miami Vice', all the exploitative, graphic party scenes...the music was on point. The shots of the monotony of 'home/school' life, in addition to the speech about civil war soldiers coming home 'radicalized' was a nice touch. The robbery scene was very well shot, tense, and the way the car went from window to window was ill. None of the girls are very good actors, when they are required to do more then writhe in pose...Selena Gomez had me cringing early one, some bad lines, but bad delivery too. Hilarious the preacher/wrestler guy as a side note.

The scenes in Sprring Breeeak were perfect, sleazy, cheap, degrading, depraved...ugly all around. I liked the parallels between the 'hood videos' and spring break, showing that it's essentially the same thing, and the interesting contrast, when Selena is with Alien in the hood, same scene as 'Spring Break' but with black instead of white guy...suddenly she's uncomfortable. Franco was amazing, some bad lines, but pardonable. His monologue, his car, classic.

I'll say Gucci Mane cannot act at all. And only one scene was convincing. The initial scene of Franco and Gucci didn't materialize as anything more then a plot contrivance, the movie dragged after Gucci talks to them in the lambo, too much repetition and too much style. That speedboat shot was amazing. And the girls calls to the parents, were overdone and repeated too much, but I'd HAD those same calls..always wanna get right with parents when you are in some crazy shyt, or getting hands dirty. I thought the ending was wack, stylish but wack, aside from some great shots. The director seemed to be showing off throughout the movie, going over the top, but it really showed in the last act. If she had just reined it in a bit, throughout, and def at the end it would have been much stronger. Heavy handed in some regards too, throughout. Great movie though, probably best of the year. Previews don't do it justice. And def. see in the theaters, if you are interested in anything besides t*ts/ass, imo.

Edit: saw the soundtrack/score was done by Cliff Martinez, who also did 'Drive', very similar score now I get why i liked it so much.

This movie was some nonsensical, overly stylized bullshyt. The only decent thing about it was Franco's over the top performance.

Only Franco did, he still with one of them, Brit in real life, Gucci was only on the set 5 days total, i know someone from Vice magazine who was there covering the shoot, Franco is a low key John Mayer.

Do any of these whores show any t*ts/p*ssy?

None of the chicks whose name you know (aside from some fleeting glimpses of Vanessa Hudgins side boobs) but the one unknown actress shows her titties a couple times.

If you know John Mayer, he is a very intelligent guy who happens to sleep with every woman he comes in contact with, he uses he charm and wit and low key attitude to bed everyone, BTW, check out the docu he does on Kink.com, then tell who me you think he got from that company, he is about that Rocco , Max Hardcore life.

I agree. The initial scene with Gucci seemed forced. It was necessary, but could have been done in a different way. I have a feeling that some of that scene, that maybe establishes it a little better, got left on the cutting room floor.

The director seemed to be showing off throughout the movie, going over the top, but it really showed in the last act. If she had just reined it in a bit, throughout, and def at the end it would have been much stronger. Heavy handed in some regards too, throughout.

The director is a he. Harmony Korine (Kids, Gummo) He's actually the only reason I gave the movie a chance. He's known for his heavy handed approach. Everything you see on the screen that looks forced or not well-thoughtout is exactly the opposite and purposely put in there.
