nah i ain't got nothing against
@hex...i always respected him as one of the best posters on this site barnone....and not only that
@hex is one of the main reasons i am here on the Coli.....
he invited me to come over here after i gave up posting on messageboards and blogs following the fall of SOHH.com
so he good with me...one of the posters i can "debate" with on here without it turning negative nahmean
but back to the subject at hand..
im not following this tired azz narrative of .."HEY IF WE RID THE WORLD OF THE VILLIAN KNOWN AS DRAKE AUBREY" hip hop and humanity will be great again
just like you said..it's become "beyond obsessive" ..damn thier weirdo shyt
this daily campaign to irradicate Drake Aubrey Graham...i get it...
but look i feel and know as a Triple OG that shyt ain't never gonna happen...and besides WHAT BENIFIT IS IT??
i recall as a little kid the first official rap records...by cats like the sugarhill gang in late 1979...
im telling yall right now .....we always had "antichrists" of rap....first Hammer was viewed as one along with Vanilla Ice ....hell even LL COOL J was chastised for sacricing his talent to rap for the LADIES.....can't forget NELLY and SOULJAH BOY....
SO THIS AIN'T NOTHING NEW....and personally i don't find DRAKE as repulsive as the above mentioned cats with the exception of Hammer and LL Cool J whom i felt were both talented and contributed to hip hop in a progressive manner....
yes DRAKE does have some flaws..lord knows he got some serious ones...that one song .."For Free" is absolutely the worst song i have heard over the past two years..it repulses me...HE ACTUALLY GOES INTO FULL SIMP MODE and tells these byatches that thier puzzy is sooo good that he should be CHARGED A FEE for it...
but hey that's his marketing scheme...drake has been succesful at telling these hoes what they WANT TO HEAR....
but he also has alot of GOOD SONGS that i myself as an OG appreciates...
I was riding back from Florida yesterday and was entertained hearing the radio play one of his old tracks "NO LIE" with 2 chainz and the "Language"....
these songs were club bangers and rightfully so!!!
the boy's catalog is impressive...
everything and everybody has it's pros and cons.....and you best believe his "team" (label, management, pr firm) is gonna do it's best to exploit that...
that's the nature of the business.....i don't see what's so hard to understand about this so called "overpromotion" of him as a BRAND
and my question to all of you...
WAS IT OVERPROMOTION WHEN CLEAR CHANNEL had ALL THIER 40 PLUS URBAN STATIONS ACROSS THE NATION simotaneasly broadcast a streaming preview of JAY-Z's 4:44 album within the same week it was available as an App on all Sprint related phones?
i rest my case..........
