SPOTIFY REALLY, REALLY, REALLY WANTS YOU TO LISTEN TO DRAKE’S NEW ALBUM

the streaming service has plastered Drake‘s face across their entire homepage and there’s been some pretty heavy backlash.

The streaming service has used Drake as the cover for multiple, if not all, playlists on their homepage. Some of which, Pitchfork reports, don’t even include Drake – like ‘Independent Ladies’ and ‘Best of British.’

Naturally, fans and Spotify users are wondering what the hell is going on.

In case you hadn’t already gotten the message loud and clear, Drake’s new album Scorpion is out now.

There isnt a fan thing about spotify that I dont find cringey.

I have Apple Music, would have kept Tidal if it weren't for the 20 a month (as opposed tob13 dollar family plan) and while they are just as bad in many respects, I just really hate Spotify.

Why wouldn't they hyper market the biggest album of the year? Avengers movies get big ass posters in movie theaters too...

Not a fan of Drake but business is business right.

No this is like if every poster in the theatre had the Avengers faces on it and the name of the movie in the Avengers font.

I personally don't have an issue with this. :manny: How you gonna get upset at Universal for dropping that bag to promote their artist and at Spotify for taking a check? I bet the same ppl that are complaining wouldn't have an issue if it was their favorite artist all on the front page.

I pay premium to get a promotion free experience. I’m well aware they payola happens behind the scenes and effects my Spotify experience on a day to day...but this Drake shyt is just heavy handed and clumsy.

Sounds like some shyt cooked up by some over eager interns who don’t realize only grown folk pay for Spotify.
