Above the fray.
I'm a guy who prides himself on getting great deals, but cheaper isn't always better.

My lady and I , on a whim, decided to go Las Vegas for a convention once.

Flew Frontier from Laguardia to Vegas, connecting in Denver

no meal, no tv on flight......no frills airlines.....we're sitting there hungry as hostages, like the Bernie Mac joke

maybe it was just how shytty laguardia was, but the entire trip was a fail

..and yes, it was the AVN

Frontier used to be a hidden gem like 6 years ago. Almost like jet blue with free tv at the seats. :ohlawd:
Than they switched the model to sprit model. I flew on their new service a couple of years ago and it was complete :trash:
- nickle and dime u for everything
- leg room was tight as hell
- i dont think they even had a useable tray table for a 5 hour flight :childplease:

I prefer southwest for cheaper flights, but most often they cost as much as the other airlines now:beli:

Now the main airlines are starting to sneak in the spirit model with the basic option where u have to pay for everything like seats choice and carryon bags:francis:

just flew Frontier last month, do your homework when searching for flights, this airline charges for everything... plus no leg room, no tv,no snack. When everything was said and done I didn't save any money flying that cheap ass airline. In the end your better off flying with one of the majors.

Problem is y’all don’t know how to fly airbuses. The main rule to those flights is only take them for short term trips. Also pack light and by that I mean anything that can fit in a backpack. Most flights give you one personal item and one carry on. Spirit and Frontier you should only think personal item that can fit under your seat. Also eat and drink before the flight because they will charge you for water. Once I understood the rules my flight experience was great.

ALLLLLLLL of this. it requires alot of strategy to get a good deal and still not get taxed for everything else.

living in NYC im going for the best deal out of Newark, LGA, JFK all things considered. Jet blue out of JFK stays with the deals to the West coast. Southwest has some deals out of LGA to places under 1500 miles. and i tend to use EWR for those flights im arriving in the AM and going straight to work in Manhattan. some of these airlines have added the free carry on back into those "basic economy" fairs so you gotta read the policys every time

true but the leg room on spirit is an issue and they not really THAT competitive in Laguardia. I feel like they are more competitive in areas that dont have 2,3 airports but over here Jet blue/delta ETC be competing hard. to fly spirit i gotta be saving like 100 on the 1 way, and dont need a full size carry on
