Odom, better handle. He can bring the ball up himself.

so did kukoc. kukoc ran the point forward all day the year jordan was out.

odom has never hit a game winning shot in the playoffs. kukoc hit one with scottie on the bench :myman:

You couldn't fault Kukoc for coming off the bench for the teams he was on. Odom was given the keys to a franchise and while good, just didn't take that next step. He never became elite, and that was the kind of talent he had.

Jerry Krause didn't want to pay Pippen in large part because he believe Toni Kukoc could/would be one of the best players in the league.

If you can't fault Kukoc for coming off of the bench for those Bulls teams (which nobody does), then you can't fault Lamar for coming off of the bench for those championship Laker teams.

Toni Kukoc had just as much skill and talent as Lamar had. They're damn near the same player, except Toni was a better shooter and Lamar's handle was a little better.

Odom ultimately not being what he should have been came even before that. He looks like he's gonna take that next step with the Clippers and then he fell back. He goes to Miami, has perhaps his best season to date, then goes to LA and then ultimately doesn't become what Pau Gasol became later on. He just stalled out, whether it be weed, inconsistency, a big time trade. Something always got in the way.

I'm not arguing that Odom underachieved. He did underachieve. I'm just saying so did Toni. Toni just gets less blame/more credit because he was one of the first Euro success stories.

The thing is that Toni by the time he even got to Chicago was an established star. He had a platform to show how good he really was until he was 25 and then was behind Kukoc, Horace Grant, and then later Rodman. His "downfall" I guess was that Chicago put him in a 6th man niche that he eventually got too comfortable in.

when Kukoc came to America, dude was supposedly one of the best players in the world.

Dude was supposed to make Pippen replaceable.

Odom and Kukoc didnt live up to their talents for different reasons, but they both underachieved, imo.

Odom was def more talented tho, so that is more disappointing as well as why he didnt max his talents.

is this a joke?? you insulting lamar odom by comparing him to toni kukoc?? man look i know odom not always right off the court(drugs, candy, out of shape). but when you look at talent alone, its not even close. kukoc could make plays, he hit clutch shots. but odom got him on the boards, defense, better handle, shot blocking.
