I say the east stops being the east after Ohio. Put a line through all those states between the Ohio/Indiana border.
The Gateway Arch is considered the gateway to the west :manny:
Too much of Texas is in the southern region for my liking. That map while widely accepted, it doesn't account for cultural or linguistic similarities.

To further complicate this, here's a time zone map. Using this I'd say mountain time and Pacific. But then I never hear of Colorado referred to as the west, and that would exclude Texas and the Midwest. At one time it was probably anything west of Mississippi River but that too excludes the Midwest :jbhmm:
