The thread in The Lounge is good, but honestly it’s slowed down. I’d say about 2-5 years ago the quality/level of SoundCloud beat makers and producers was so high that even random guys were making heat.
Now it’s mostly mixes and dudes putting same sounding beats under existing vocals.
The guys like Freddie Joachim, Knxwledge, KAYTRANADA, Cashmere Cat, IAMNOBODI etc. have either graduated to getting real placements and are putting out less stuff or they’re just straight up DJing and not putting any original music out.

Yeah. It's weird because the vibe on Sonder stuff and the vibe on Brent's solo stuff are pretty much the same, which makes me wonder what's the point of splitting the two?
It's unnecessary confusion.
At least NxWorris & .Paak's solo stuff are completely different styles.
Brent's solo stuff probably isn't solely produced by the dudes that he works with on the Sonder records. That's all I got tho
