Yeah at least Eaton was a shot blocking specialist. Donaldson only averaged 1.3 blks.
Eaton was arguably the best defensive player in the league that year. Not saying he was THE best but up there. The Donaldson one is the one I still don't understand why he made it. Not that I watched enough bball that year to see if he deserved it or not but those numbers are pathetic for an All Star.

Korver is clearly imperative to the Hawks offense and Atlanta was absolutely destroying everyone at this point last season so his selection is understandable. I'm not sure what James Donaldson did to get that selectio

Maybe they felt the team needed another big man to replace Steve Johnson. That would be stupid if true. It's the All Star game; big men rarely shine anyway. Hell play Magic at center. He proved he could do it 8 years earlier in the Finals. I know for sure Olajuwon and Jabbar were on the team. Can someone post the West roster that year?

The Western Conference team was led byMagic Johnson of the Los Angeles Lakers,Clyde Drexler of the Portland Trail Blazers, the Utah Jazz's power forward Karl Malone and the Houston Rockets' center Hakeem Olajuwon. Joining them were James Worthyand Kareem Abdul-Jabbar of the Lakers, Fat Lever and Alex English of the Denver Nuggets, Xavier McDaniel of the Seattle SuperSonics, Alvin Robertson of the San Antonio Spurs and Mark Aguirre and James Donaldson of the Dallas Mavericks. In this game, Abdul-Jabbar would become the all-time leading scorer in NBA All-Star Game history, a distinction he held for 15 years.

I thought Rolando Blackman made it that year. That's even more of an insult to Byron Scott. Only 4 guards on that roster.

The coaches must not have wanted 4 Lakers on the team. I cant think of any other reason. Plus the Mavs won at least 55 games that year so they were rewarded with 2 All Stars.

I believe he replaced an injured Steve Johnson. But still Byron Scott was averaging over 20 a game and was not selected that year.

Just looked up Byron Scott's stats and that nikka was pretty damn good!

Always had the thought he was just riding the bench on those Lakers teams cuz nobody talked about him like that.
