Not that he's fallen off, but did anyone else not really feel Maxwell's recent bit of music. To be fair, I haven't checked the album but the singles won't hitting to me
I'mma take it back for a minute... Remember Big Bub?
I think after he completes his trilogy, you'll be able to take about 9-10 songs and make a real good album from the 3. His first album was the only one that had a bunch of hits. His other albums have about 3 or 4 good songs that I like. And I'm a big Maxwell fan.Ima keep it real, maxwells last album was trash, I waited 7 years for that
Usher who I feel fell off has better songs on his album
Agreed.
I'm still in the 90s as far as Maxwell goes.

Stevie produced half that album
Alexander O'neal should've been as big as Luther. Put this 1 on and tell me you ain't feeling it, and I'll tell you, you ain't got no soul!
The drugs had gotten to Alex.
Bad.
Not only that, but you also have to consider the musical shift that happened in R&B during the late 80s. When New Jack Swing came on the scene, it pretty much signaled the end of the Prince-affiliated acts. Those artists who were popping two years prior or so were almost out the door by 1987. Jimmy and Terry were the exceptions to the rule because they saw the changes that were going on in music during that point and adapted. A lot of the Prince affiliates couldn't.
