The phrase “men are so insecure” gets thrown around when there’s a hot button topic on Twitter. Usually in relation to a woman wanting to do a certain activity. It begs the question, how does insecurities look on us as men? Do you have any? Are they kept in the basement of your brain, or do you work on them?

Outside of women, there a pretty of areas that most men are secretly insecure about. Some things out of their control and even some things in their control.

I think most humans are insecure about one thing or another; your insecurities can become your downfall, or you can use them to fuel the fire. For example Joe Biden had a stutter growing up, now he’s president. Wilma Rudolph had polio and still set records. Mlk had depression as a teen.
I think comics who self depreciate open up about their insecurities on stage.

In a relationship, often people throw around the word insecure in an attempt to manipulate or gaslight (I hate that word but it’s appropriate here) you

Its perfectly ok to feel a type of way if your S/O crosses boundaries or does something u deem disrespectful such as flirting with a waiter or bartender.

If she calls you insecure because flirting is not something you tolerate in a relationship, then it’s best to separate because she doesn’t respect you.

Everybody is insecure about something. A lot of men can acknowledge that they need work or fall short in a certain area and not let it bother them much beyond that. As long as no one is picking at the man about whatever their shortcoming is they are usually fine with it.

Most women aren’t wired like that. While most men and some women see what women are like on the outside there are other aspects physically, mentally, and emotionally that bother them without anyone even mentioning them. It’s just physiological and part of their makeup. I do believe hormones play a factor in this as well.

your examples including political figures and comedians were spot on. If you want to change a faucet of your character, you have to attack that head on.

Once said man/woman is under the trace and rethinks if they were the one with issues, then it’s a wrap. The small thing he/she complained about snowball into larger issues.. until it blows up in their face. That may potentially bled into their regular life: becoming passive about issues that concern them.

it is heavily stigmatized for a men to show any sort of insecurities. Women would look down on you for it and men would want to test you more, it sucks but that’s just how society is. :yeshrug:
That’s the main theme I wanted to get into with this thread. It’s interesting how does double-standards play out. I’m not one to say if it’s right or wrong but it’s intriguing.

the most blatant example of this is a man’s height vs a woman’s weight.
