I took boxing as a kid plus a got 2 big brothers and a younger brother that's bigger than me and them nikkas didn't spare me shyt when it came to fighting, we fought each other like we was nikkas from different sets. Now that I'm older it takes more for me to agree to a fight but I won't hesitate to start throwin em if the situation calls for it. It pretty much has to be a situation I can't walk away from though

I'm probably the only female who's gonna answer this thread but here goes...

  1. I'd much rather avoid fighting lol
  2. I fought a little bit but only because I got picked on a lot. I was (and still am lol) a bookworm and females always underestimated me smh
  3. A little. I do some muay thai and bjj now. I do capoeira too but I feel like it's not useful in real life

  5. I really only have ever fought to defend myself. For a girl, I think that's really the only good reason. Like I said before people underestimate me so I feel like I have to know how to fight just in case.

  7. A vast majority of females cannot fight. At all. So I just protect my face and try not to hit them too hard haha

I do my best to avoid any altercations......but if I'm in a situation where I have no other choice then I'm swinging first and going try to make that punch devastating....

I don't fight unless in the most dire situations. don't get it twisted though, I ain't all there upstairs :troll: I'll do and use anything when I have to.

I have some boxing training mixed with some judo and some other tricks I learned while in Law Enforcement training. I haven't had a fight for 3 years I always try to avoid them but if im not getting my point across by avoiding the fight and still acting like he wants to bring it to me im gonna swing for the fences and try to get that one shot ko if that's the only language nikkas wanna speak. Nobody hasn't tested me in awhile im 5'9" and built like gorilla most nikkas are intimidated.

This was inspired by the thread by BrothaZay about girls saying gay men are automatically good fighters.

After posting here for a couple months, I want to know how you guys fight, if at all. I want the following questions answered:

  1. If in a tight situation, would you first rather avoid fighting all together or just scrap and get it over with?

    i'm 30 so i will avoid fighting altogether. i have too much to lose
  2. Did you fight a lot growing up? If so, did you absolutely have to?

    i got into a good amount of fights growing up. i was a geek, had the big glasses and everything, but not the stereotypical geek because i had athleticism..i was just smart and not the best dresser :manny:...so nikkas wanted to test every now and then
  3. Do you have boxing/grappling/martial arts training?

    karate as a kid, and boxing...box today for the workout and keep the hand game sharp
  4. What do you think of using weapons? Is there a line here with weapons?

    if you have to use a weapon use it...no line...i own a retractable baton that i keep in my gym bag...ive had to whip it out twice..thankfully just to keep distance and not whack them for getting too close
  5. What's a good reason to fight? What's a bad reason?

    good reason - catching somebody breaking into your car or your home or disrespect my folks; bad reason - pretty much everything else lol
  6. After you fight someone, are you cool with each other after?

    depends on who and what the individual is to me

  7. What's your strategy if you have to fight?

    end it as soon as possible

This is how i fight.

I only fight if im in danger. I dont fight over words. I fight over imminent threats. Id rather not though because as a BJJ brown belt, i dont want to hurt an adversary who does not know when to stop or makes me feel like i have to claim his life because of his threat level. Its too demonic, friends.

I boxed in my younger days in the army during the fifties; met joe louis once; he told me that i had a future as a pugilist, but i assumed he told everyone that at some point or another. Needless to say i think i chose the right route by taking the path less travelled

I did brazilian jiu jitsu for a couple of years and have some boxing training. Have a lot of things going on in my life at the moment and God willing will be back to training jiu jitsu and starting muay thai soon. I'm pretty confident that I could defend myself but I always try to avoid fights. I have too much to lose and a family that depends on me.

The only good reason to fight is to defend your family or yourself. If your just fighting to fight then you're a teenager or very immature.

Did boxing and muay tai for a couple years, it's good to have good groundwork. I'm a decent fighter, only lost one fight and he was a wrestler and being honest I deserved it. I'm not tall at all 5'8, but i've worked out for the past decade and just don't have the appearance of someone you'd like to try. I'd rather not fight at all as a adult with kids, but no one in my family would fear for their life if in a pressing situation. I won't start it, but I won't run either.

To answer your question, I just let my big headed, mexicali best friend handle my lightweight drama. :smugdraper:

Im just too paranoid about messing up my face, or getting injured and looking at thousands in medical bills. 99% of fights are over some absolute nonsense, that could and should have been avoided.
