Tho I wouldn't call my younger cousins thugs per se more like dudes who just trying to make some money.

Tho one did get arrested stealing cars and trying to flip them last year.

I'm originally from the hood, then we moved to the burbs when i was like 15-16. so growing up, i did know some dudes who would actually fit the real defintion of thug. i also knew a lot who weren't thugs too. i'm not a thug, even when i lived in the hood i wasn't a thug. we didn't have a lot of money back then but i was still generally a good kid. some nikkas on here sound like FOX news reporters with the "thug" shyt

The whole "thug" vs "nerd" thing is stupid because dudes are saying a cat who is outgoing/popular, listens to rap, etc is a thug.
I've asked some of those dudes online what they think a thug is and that's basically their definition. They didn't say a criminal/jailbird nikka who robs, sells drugs, in a gang, etc these nikkas think a black man who's popular/outgoing and listens to trap music is a "thug"

Never grew up in that kind of environment, had a lot of people pretending but in Louisiana, things are chill, there are some rough areas but none of these areas compared to the ghettos in N.O. I'm used to seeing people on the corners or just up to no good but never lived in an area with senseless violence. I mean, selling drugs, stealing, that really isn't as bad as some of shyt I see happening in other states.

Keep seeing these threads popping up, talking about how Black people consider you lame if you are not a thug/goon.

So my question is to everyone claiming that this is the case... how many thugs do you actually know?

Ya'll paint this picture like everyone else is a thug and they all hate you cuz you watch anime or play video games...

So is that how it is?
Are most black people thugs and the nerds are the minority?
Do most black women you know date/marry thugs exclusively?

-I dont think you are competing with thugs on a day to day basis for attention and acceptance.

I think this "I have to be a thug to be considered cool" is some of the worst projecting i've ever seen

I personally know some street dudes but I'm not under the impression that we're friends. We speak in passing and may chop it up for a minute but that's as far as it goes. I I have a family and shyt to maintain, there is no need in surrounding myself with walking liabilities. BTW all women like men with an edge, they like to feel safe when they are with their dude.

I know a few, and OP has a solid point. A lot of the real goons only attract other real goon females ie hoodrats, and not the good kind. It's the nikkas who really come off as goons that most females are attracted too, attitudinal, tattoos, etc etc.


The real issue is the definition of "goons" cause I know plenty of nikkas with bodies under their belt, doing time, etc that I still wouldn't consider a "real" goon. They just nikkas that was about that action.
