Didn’t EA grab the rights for the NFL after this came out? 2K must’ve had them SHOOK putting out better games at a third of the price

Then why the hell did they resort to buying the license? They saw 2k5 as legit competition and when you played both one felt natural and the other felt tired. The hit stick resorted into people abusing it and missing tackles, the Tony Bruno show was laughable, and defensive playmaker was average. 2k5 killed Madden in every aspect of gaming and there's a reason why it's still remembered to this day, but when people remember Madden 05 all they say is hit stick
Of course it was, Whenever a franchise switches to newer consoles they always make it bare bones to see what it can handle, Madden 06 on the PS2 & Xbox were vastly superior. The problem is that they haven't been able to recapture that magic from the old systems.

Yup. Madden 05 was excellent and the last game before that qb eye shyt. My friends and i had both and the novelty of 2k fell off because it felt more arcadey

It was more of the NFL's fault honestly. People put the blame on EA (and still do) but they both tried to bid for it
