I remember watching all those scenes as a kid like :manny:

I never thought they were disturbing because they all went with the episode

The Wrong Side of the Tracks
This thread wouldn't be complete without some Ralph Bakshi........

Oh yeah, the whole movie is on youtube, but I wouldn't watch it with little kids in the room.

This scene was one of the most controversial in any cartoon because of its detailed depiction of infants and children dying, it was even banned for a couple of year (warning, very graphic):

Apparently it is one of the most gruesome animes every created.

Here is another anime called "shinguri". In my opinion this anime transcends the label of "anime" and is in fact an art master piece, it is visceral, unrelenting, and incredibly deep. Here is a scene that is renown for its goryness (watch from 5:50):

By the way, the creators of this anime had gone through extreme mindfullness in ensuring that they capture "the samurai way" and feudal Japan as accurately a possible, for example, every sword fight in this anime between samurai/ronin is decided by a single motion or two (as was in real life).

I've never watched this (stumbled across it on Cracked), but I'm kind of glad I haven't.

Pretty damn disturbing all its own, but that didn't compare to this scene from later in the same movie:

 :damn: :what: :why: :mindblown:

I literally sat there staring at my display for a few minutes, trying to comprehend WTF I'd just seen. Not surprisingly, Plague Dogs was brought to you by the fine folks who brought you Watership Down.
