who yall got for this era?

I know a lot of people are gonna automatically run with jodeci, but when you pull up those overall catalogs..........:usure:

shouts out to some of the other groups:
mint condition & tony toni tone = r&b bands. different lane.
hi five - teen group. different lane

there were dope groups that were in this lane but didn't get that minimum 3-album run, so they didn't make the cut.

My top 3 are Dru Hill, Boyz II Men and Jodeci.

I picked Boyz II Men though since Dru Hill wasn't an option. Dru Hill is a personal favorite even though Boyz II Men are vocally better.

NY all day..Da Stead & BK..
It's obviously Jodeci...one of a kind talent...not many people have voices like K Ci and Jojo..K Ci especially...that nikka coulda rocked wit them old school singers...then factor in Devonte and that nikka was a musical beast...Timbaland was his protege so that should say enough...Boys 2 Men couldn't really sing that well outside of the group and harmonizing...on their own they sounded weak as fukk...Jodeci is the most talented and I don't think it's any contest...I really liked all the groups listed tho...

From this era? Boyz II Men. Jodeci's best is better than Boyz II Men's, but Boyz II Men was better overall.

Should just do a a all 90's r&b thread, almost made on today. I only know Silk cuz they had that resurgence in the late 90's, I was in middle school with that 'Meeting In My Bedroom'/if You' single I 'borrowed' from my homies older sister...the rest of them are kinda before my time.

this is gonna turn into a Boyz to Men Vs Jodeci thread, where you have two groups so different it's whatever you like. I always preferred Jodeci's music.

H-town is the shyt. They got alot of good material.

I don't consider Silk on the level of the other three.

heres my gripes with jodeci being the unanimous champs of this era:

1.) their album catalog is the weakest of the 4 groups.
2.) there were like 3-5 other male groups putting out better albums than jodeci during the bulk of this time period that didn't even make this list.
3.) jodeci's up-tempo game was blah.

Jodeci > Boyz II Men > Silk >>>>>> H-Town

Silk is underrated though. Lil G is a probably a top 3 lead vocalist of 90s r&b groups.

But I would take Tony Toni Tone and Mint Condition over every 90s r&b group/band, easily.

Did any of these groups have better than an average up-tempo game? Only ones I can really think of are MotownPhilly and Come and Talk to me but I wasn't the hugest R&B head back then but I did fukk with all of these groups relatively tough.

I'll prolly roll with Jodeci on this one but I always go back and forth between them and Boyz. Dino was incredibly underrated as a talent though. He shoulda went solo as soon as they fell off. Ginuwine came and took the lane that coulda been his and it was a wrap.
