I'm good. After 2K17, I'm officially done with the series as a whole:camby:. The fact that I can make my OWN universe in FPW, instead of seeing a big ass WWE banner next to my promotion is the icing on the cake. Don't get me started with that shytty promo system:scust:. That game made me hate The Authority's existence.

That damn promo system. Now I'm really mad just thinking about it. I went from being semi-hard when I heard about it to wanting to hit the developers in the dikk with a field hockey stick when I played with it. Every single line in that system was utter garbage like it was written by a 5th grader, and while I know the WWE seems like it's being written by a 5th grader they should strive to do better, and the constant Authority stuff was just rancid feces on top of garbage heap.

Ok so I enjoyed the create feature on wwe 2k, the gameplay is arcady but the graphics and the create a entrance is dope, I love creating my own federation and cast of characters.. what does fire pro offer in that department, I know the gameplay is more sim based but what about everything else? is this game only fun playin online, like wahts the difference aside from gameplay

I love great gameplay just as much as the next man but I need some storyline elements to go along with it, i need a reason to fight, feuds and other stuff, but i will reserve my judgment until i play it later

Fire Pro doesn't really focus on the aesthetics of the WWE games. Hence why most folks including yourself may not feel the whole gameplay>>>>everything style of the Fire Pro games. The story elements are what you want them to be. For instance, my promotion that I created is feuding with the default SWA promotion in the game over our championship. If this was a WWE game, the concept would be frustrating due to the fact that there's a huge WWE logo on the side of the screen, along with everything geared towards the promotion. What makes Fire Pro special is the fact that it's your own world. You can create promotions, stables, and so forth to your own likening. Sure, its bare bones on the department of style on the level of the WWE games, but I never cared for those things in wrestling games.

It's really hard to describe and only OG Fire Pro heads will feel the same settlements as I do.

So what are the story elements, is it entirely role playing or does the game have some built in features?

Well the devs said that they are going to put in a story mode eventually, along with create a story where you can download storylines from the workshop. The story mode from what I know is the equivalent of Fire Pro Wrestling G's mode "Fighting Road", where you work your way up in the rank of a promotion.

Just something I'm doing for fun lol. I did a tournament for the belt and one of the default MMA dudes won the league. The owner got salty and sending goons to take him down for the belt. That's why I love the game because it leaves room for imagination. WWE games are good for making it for you, but it just feels restricted when the game decides to have Taker feud with Orton because a lack of handshake. Meanwhile, I can just go off on how the match flowed with Fire Pro to add judgement on how I want the feuds to play out.

It's like how NJPW books their shows. The storytelling in the matches dictates the flow of a storyline.

Sadly no, but you can have a manager by your side to interfere in the match. I hope they add that in because the older Fire Pro games actually had run ins (Fire Pro Wrestling 2 for the GBA).

Custom music support is in!

Hello Fire Pro fans, company mouthpiece Dave K here with an update on our progress through Early Access.

Since launch we’ve focused on bug fixes with weekly patches, but we’re ready to shift our attention to expanding your gameplay options.

Our latest patch rolls out two new features: Custom music support and S-1 rules!

Custom music support allows you to set your own wrestler entrance theme and match BGM. This feature supports MP3, WAV and OGG file types.

First things first: To get the music into your game, move the files into the game’s installation directory. By default, this should be something like:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\FPW\BGM
2afb3b90460ad47aa241778d41a1cfd0dc4c7275.png

You can set a wrestler’s entrance theme from:
Edit Mode > Wrestler Edit (Create/load your wrestler) Skill > Theme Music > Skill > Entrance Theme

The other new feature should be familiar to longtime fans: S-1 Rules Match (the Fire Pro answer to kickboxing)! Originally we didn’t plan to include this mode, but enough people asked for it so it’s back by popular demand.

Before you trade your tights for boxer shorts, keep the following S-1 special rules in mind:
  • Matches are decided by KO/TKO
  • Matches are fought in timed rounds (similar to Gruesome Fighting)
  • No grappling moves/submissions
  • No running inside the ring
  • Strikes receive a large damage bonus for wrestlers using an MMA-centric fight style (Shooter, Grappler, Fighter)

That about covers the new features. For detailed patch notes, please visit the Steam forums.

One last thing before I sign off:

We launched a Twitch channel[www.twitch.tv] to directly address user feedback and announce upcoming features.

Even I don’t know what Director Matsumoto will let slip until we’re on the air, so be sure to drop by!

In a few weeks we’ll have the head programmer on as a guest to talk shop and show us how the engine works under the hood. Watch this space for details, or follow us on Twitter, Facebook and Steam!

    Until next time, stay strong.

When is this supposed to release on consoles?

It's in Early access now on PC with frequent updates, so it's still being updated and modified to the final version. Dev said they could be doing updates until Spring time until they are ready to release on PS4 (exclusive).
