Here's the "Boss N!gger" Trailer, QT was majorly influenced by this for Django also the movie "The Legend of N!gger Charlie", these were titles people, Hollywood really think's they are slick. It's not that Blacks wanted these titles, these are titles for movies only Hollywood would approve for Black Roles back then:

I do not blame Fred Williamson or Pam Gier for doing these exploitation films back in the day. We needed to get roles so sadly we had to do them. But Hollywood clearly exploited us and had some horrible racist titles too. Again people need to stop sugar coating like Hollywood doesn't have a racist past dealing with not just black actors, but black roles. This is the biggest reason "Django" is getting some heat.

WHat's wild is that is when things started turning negative for the black community, and the issues we complain, as a community, started. Before the 70's our issues were more economic, and image, now we have those plus a whole bunch of other shyt which hollywood help grow. The mack influenced people into pimping, just like scarface influenced people into dealing. Don't get me wrong these types of movies aren't the cause of our downfall, but they sure did help the push towards it.

What's funny is most of these movies STILL had a message of blacks needing to get together to fight the system, while now it's just a lesson of what not to do. No bigger picture type of messages that shows us uniting against a common enemy. Maybe this was the ultimate goal since they started letting all these films get green lit.

I mean This movie came out in the 70's, it was called "Boss N!gger" and White People still have the nerve to say "Blacks use it more than us" LMAO.

I don't think I've ever heard that defense.

Everyone not just white wants to classify everyone into groups I think thats the psyche of man. It's unfortunate and I'm honestly not very sure how I feel about it.

There needs to be movies about Nat Turner, Harriett Tubman and the underground Railroad and Black Wall St. These are Black Stories that Blacks would like to see and that other races need to learn more about. Sadly Slavery was completely whitewashed in our history books they completely watered it down. I remember the Slavery Chapter in History Class in high school was very weak. A Nat Turner movie would be Epic as well as Harriet Tubman considering she was a female that freed so many slaves.

Oh Sh!t, Spike going in on Twitter now:

Spike Lee ‏@SpikeLee
American Slavery Was Not A Sergio Leone Spaghetti Western. It Was A Holocaust. My Ancestors Are Slaves. Stolen From Africa.I Will Honor Them.

This is kinda my point about it. I know it's a movie and not a documentary and I am going to see the movie this week but I agree that Hollywood again would never treat the Holocaust subject like this. Also what is up with QT obsession with revenge? This is his 4th Revenge flick in a row and "Pulp", "Jackie" and "Dogs" had revenge elements also. I think he's a unique writer and film maker but I can't believe everyone gives him a pass for doing basically genre "Revenge" flicks.

I'm gonna see this movie to show support and see this movie...........Its just a fukking movie....actors playing a fukking role......Why people gotta be so sensitive all the time

Just a movie :what:
Was "Birth of a Nation" just a movie, was "Sex in the City" just a tv show?
Media influences our society greatly, see how folks wear stuff they see rappers wear or what's in tv/movies/etc. A movie like Django sends a message that blacks need that white savior in order to achieve success. Trust, just because it's a slave killing his former master doesn't mean this is an empowering film. Aside from that, this film is from a director who frequently throws shots at black folks, so Django is not just a movie :stopitslime:

These two been beefing. So no surprise here especially over this.

I feel like this might be in a similar approach to Inglorious b*stards as far as making an almost Grindhouse B-movie approach to an historical era with sensitive incidents

So this trend of 30 is the new 20, and 35+ y/o women still acting like they're 23 didn't have anything to do w/ "Sex in the City"?

The show made that lifestyle cool, prior to that, a women who's 30+ w/o a kid or up in the club was viewed by society like
Now, it's more of a :ehh:

You'd be surprised by how a number of women want to live like Carrie or one of those other chicks, having carefree flings and having expensive shoes. "Sex in the City" is a landmark book/tv/film series in our culture.

That's a fair point, however in black rising up and moving past adversity, 80% of the time it's through a white "savior" that helps them reach their goals. It's say to us subconsciously that we're inferior and we can't help ourselves.
