They heard 50 Cent growing up so that makes sense. Pac was long gone by the time a current 18 year old was born. But that same person heard 50 Cent in real time. Nobody calls a new rapper the new "50 Cent". It's still the new "Pac". His impact will never disappear. He's like the MJ of rap.

What's crazy is 50's music career was :flabbynsick: by the time a lot of Gen Zers were in middle school.

I'm legit puzzled as to why 50 is so popular with Gen Z, they was very young at his peak. 50's peak was 03-06, like how many Gen Z ppl even remember those years in real time!? I would have thought that Future and Drake would be the most influencing rappers for Gen Z considering they ran the 2010 decade.

I dont know, but I know i do

Maybe having a brother seven years older is the main reason, but I remember all that stuff from back then

G unit was everywhere. No matter what age you were, wasn't any escaping it

50's style was straight forward and very melodic on his hits, so it makes sense why he was my favorite rapper as a kid

In da club was like a ghetto nursery rhyme :wow:

I remember when they had the rumors about 50 being the main character in the new gta :russ:

Then it came out and I was confused

Game was in it, so I always wondered why not 50 as well

Then bulletproof came out :whoo:

Me and my brother always wanted it, but never could get it

50 might be big with them because of his video game and movie. Remember 50 was bigger than rap music at his peak. Gen Z is 1997-2013. At his peak, I can definitely see the older Gen Z looking up to him like a superhero and passing that down to the younger Gen Z. He was everywhere.

I’ll speak for myself, I’m 25, and 50 was the first real Hip Hop Superstar I can remember (maybe DMX before that, memory gets fuzzy before 02). Not that I could fully enjoy 50’s music like I could’ve if I was an adult but it was more like you couldn’t go anywhere without hearing his music or seeing his face. 50 not only was a rapper but a brand.

Nobody young (gen z) listens to 2pac :flabbynsick: . They got NBA Youngboy for that purpose :hubie: g
I'm working with a bunch of Gen Z rappers right now.
They're all spitters who love Kendrick Lamar, 2Pac, etc.
but they also make shyt like NBA Youngboy or Travis Scott.

They don't seem to fit the boxes that the Coli would throw them in.
Ages rage from 19-23, maybe 25 at the oldest?

I said nobody young. Your chart supports my claim :russ:

Pac was a global icon with lots of millennial fans still listening. But gen z not tryna hear it

Huh? If you're on a top 100 streaming list it's because you have young listeners. The dominant demographic for streaming are younger people, from kids through mid 30s. People who were riding around bumping Pac in 1996 aren't streaming shyt today, on average.
