"Alien" space craft is found in ocean. Research team sent. Turns out to be human ship from the future. One guy concludes that since future didn't know about the present people finding the ship, they are all going to die, enters sphere in ship, and now has special mind powers. People killed, 3 left at end.....one is known to have entered the sphere with the other 2 unsure if the other had entered or not, fight and what not ensues......all three survive but use their mental powers to erase their memory of the event and replace it with another memory hence answering the earlier paradox of how they could live.

Saw this in theaters when i was 12-13.....I liked it, I may have seen it once or twice since, holds up alright. Pretty common as far as late 90's Crichton or similar adaptations. Really strong cast and cool visuals, tense enough.

'Why do we need a mathologist' Samuel L Jckason, he doesn't say mathologist, but it's something like that.
