Friday night's contest between Simeon (Chicago, Ill.) and Morgan Park (Chicago, Ill.) was suspended after a fight in the stands resulted in a stabbing, according to the Chicago Sun-Times.

In a game played at Gately Stadium on the South Side of Chicago, Simeon led Morgan Park, 6-0, when the game was suspended with 10:27 left in the third quarter.

The Sun-Times said police responded to reports of gunshots, but that the police did not believe a gun had been fired.

"Our dispatcher informed us there was no indication of shots fired,” police spokesman Daniel O’Brien told the Sun-Times. “There may have been a person who flashed a gun which may have precipitated or escalated the fight."

The police cleared the stands and canceled the game around 9:20 p.m. local time.

"Chicago Police decided to cancel the game,” Calvin Davis, director of Chicago Public League sports administration, told the Sun-Times. “They felt there were unsafe conditions in the area. Nothing happened on the field. It is a suspended game, the day and time they will continue has yet to be determined."

I'll take the under and I'll go with an even 19 for the tiebreaker.

One man was killed and at least seven other people wounded in attacks across the city Friday night into Saturday morning, according to police.

The only homicide overnight happened about 5:40 a.m. Saturday in the 11600 block of South Wallace Street in the West Pullman neighborhood, police said.

The man, whose age wasn't available, was shot while driving a car, which came to rest on a porch near the intersection of 116th and South Wallace streets.

Seven others were shot but survived the attacks Friday night and Saturday morning, according to police.

A 30-year-old woman sustained multiple gunshot wounds about 6:55 a.m. in the 2900 block of North Ridgeway Avenue in the Logan Square neighborhood, Chicago Police Department News Affairs Officer Laura Kubiak said. She's in critical condition at Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center, Kubiak said.

About the same time, two others were shot in the 4400 block of West Monroe Street in the West Garfield Park neighborhood. One was shot in the foot and the other in the arm. Additional details* weren't immediately available.

A 17-year-old boy was shot in the body multiple times in the Gage Park neighborhood about 8:40 p.m. Friday, authorities said.

The boy was in the 5600 block of South Sacramento Avenue when someone shot at him from inside a passing tan car, News Affairs Officer Amina Greer said.* He was taken to John H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital of Cook County in critical condition, Greer said. The shooting may be gang-related.
