Moneybagg shyt all sound the same. Every song. Same beat. Same flow
Harlem Renaissance was powered by migrants. But I am a fan of the movement. Not a fan of the Harlem Renaissance?
Should’ve led off with thisObviously I’m not talking about UGK, Scarface, OutKast, 8Ball/MJG, Goodie Mob..
I’m talking about Southern Hip Hop from like 2005 to current…. It all began with Lil Wayne’s trash ass
Cotidamn nikka your WOAT banner bright ass fukk
Last time I checked,I like Southern Hip-Hop, particularly the era of Geto Boys/Scarface, UGK, OutKast, Goodie Mob, Three Six Mafia (although they're more Midwest), Eightball/MJG, etc.
I never was a fan of that Lil Wayne, Birdman, Cash Money, No Limit era, Lil Jon, ringtone era, etc of Southern Hip-Hop. That shyt was and still is terrible and somewhat the catalyst for why Hip-Hop is the way it is right now.
That mid-late 00s era of Southern Hip-Hop up until now has been terrible and one of the reasons Hip-Hop fell off so hard, the South made it acceptable for certain trends and negative aspects to be ok. Lack of skill, terrible cheap sounding beats that age badly, glorification of degeneracy, awful album covers, etc.
As someone else mentioned, the South seems to be exempt from criticism because if the West Coast and especially the East Coast (NYC, Jersey, Philly, etc) put out this kind of music it'd be getting clowned and shytted on and rightfully so because people expect better from the East Coast.
Im sure OP would say he's one of the good onesPersons banner while having Scarface for a profile pic
Facts. Make music for the strip clubs rapper brehs and then get mad when strippers start rapping garbage too. Crazy time in rap music history when the men and women rappers sound exactly the same… wild feminine too… dudes be on tracks steady talking about the next man like some strippers lolI mean all regions sound trash these days tbh.
They pushed for mainstream strip club culture, autotune, fake bodies, superficial hoes, non existent bars and delivery, beats that age like white women, and promoted simping.
That aint a coincidence. That's cultural degeneracy.
Lowkey, the West Coast saved hip hop this century. Why do NY/NJ nikkas always say this when you can’t even name the last decent NY artist of the last 20 years. Who was the last remotely good NY rapper to make noise? Bobby Shmurda? Hell no, he was garbage water. Cardi? Nah, she on the same tier as all these garbage mainstream rappers. ASAP Mob? Nah, they was more noted for their dress code which is already outdated and looks basic today in this era where anyone can copy and paste their whole “aesthetic”. Even Dipset was weak compared to Wu, Boot Camp, Mobb Deep etc.
Nah, can’t name any decent NY rappers over a two decade period. A city of 8 million people at that. And I loved NY rap in the 90’s. It was God tier. Even the obscure underground shyt. NY ain’t been the same since Big died and Jay retired. Hov carried the torch single handedly and even he had his weak moments and trash albums.
Other regions had decent movements since fukking 2000. L.A. had Kendrick, TDE. The Bay had a decent movement a few years ago with Larry June, Lil Pete, SOB RBE but the Bay scene mostly fizzled out because there are barely any nikkas left in hella Bay Area hoods.
basically taking a page out the 36 mafia playbook - songs like baby momma and chickenheadHonestly, the song didn’t sound terrible until the Glorilla part
For me the south started fallen off after Lil Wayne around 2012…
That’s when I started having a hard time listening to what these dumb donalds, mush mouth nikkas was saying..
and that trickle over to every other region
Obviously I’m not talking about UGK, Scarface, OutKast, 8Ball/MJG, Goodie Mob..
