Yo the trains have been more fukked every weekend recently, or is it just me?

Like what in the world are they fixing when we barely see any progress.

It's not just you bro. Google that exact phrase "are the trains messed up, or is it just me?" and you'll literally see a ton of articles about the decline in service over the last 10 years. Especially in the last 5 years. Ridership is at an all time high, and service is at an all time low. The problems are in this order - congestion and old ass trains that need to be repaired more frequently now. Not to mention certain tunnels were messed up by hurricane sandy so you got that too. I recently moved from the city to queens where im doing the bus to the train life and it's been so brutal on weekends (i work weekends). im talking like 2 hours to get home minimum. When my total commute time for the day almost equals the hours I worked I'm like :mjcry: . If you live in SE brooklyn or SE queens you might as well stay your ass home on the weekends going into the city is not worth it unless you wanna wait crazy times for the trains or pony up money for an uber pool

plus people from LI drive in and park their cars to take the trains into the city. so they not only take up parking spaces in the neighborhoods but also add to the congestion on the trains :francis:

I don't understand in some areas they're building a shyt ton of buildings - adding like thousands of people to a neighborhood - and doing absolutely nothing to improve the infrastructure. The city lets these developers build and build and build but what are they doing to improve trains, busses, and parking in that area? nothing... just let the people who live there figure it out. It's crazy.

also lemme speak on queens for a second. How has the MTA not tried to extend the subway past PARSONS in Jamaica when u got a TON of people that live past theere. Even on hillside the shyt only goes to 179th and theres a whole nother world passed there. You got people doing 2 busses to get to the train in some of those spots. But yet we need to fund a goddamn street car that runs along the water from Astoria to Brooklyn Heights??? da fuq???

Thats why im glad i left. Im glad im not the only one who felt BK was a constant proving/battleground coming up. I aint have no older cousins or brothers or uncles whos rep i could eat off while i built my own.....no calvary was coming when the shyt started. No get back unless i put in the work myself. Earned my stripes the hard way:birdman:. like my son Nas said "no cousins or uncles to fight with us, we was fukked up." Which blew my mind when i moved to A, i got a chance to be a happy go lucky kid for a change. shyt was Surreal yo.

Same shyt here. I think growing up here is what lead to my anti social or asocial behavior. I was always a loner. If I wasn't by myself, I was with a chick. Walking home from high school was always a challenge. Had to avoid certain blocks, at certain times... Every day somebody's getting jumped, slashed or robbed. shyt was making me paranoid and crazy. I probably would've went to jail for killing somebody cuz I had all typea of weapons and shyt on me in case somebody tried me. Canarsie high nikkas, south shore nikkas... Always some gang shyt going on in them parts back then. So glad most that shyt is done. But I can't wait to go back to Florida for good and leave this gloomy place

Damn breh, my condolences. I don't know how y'all queens dudes handle the fukkery mta constantly put y'all through.

Speak of the devil, the New York Times released an article about subway delays yesterday. They even mocked the mta twitter account constantly telling people about delays.

My theory is they got rid of the limited b46 in favor of the select bus shyt in order to get more people from Williamsburg to go to kings plaza.

And lol at people thinking canarsie isn't hood:mjlol:

I don't think these Hipsters would move all the way to South Brooklyn. Not even counting the black areas, I don't see ANY hipsters in the Southwest part of Brooklyn like Bay Ridge, Sheapshed Bay, Brighton Beach, Coney Island. All of them are still filled with foreign Euro whites

Southern Brooklyn, Eastern Queens, and Northern Bronx are just too far for the Out of town Hipsters

I know hence the select bus to get them to kp.

Still once they get priced out of North and downtown Brooklyn they'll make their way down. Theyrr already getting closer by downstate and there's new residential building going up on flatbush not far from the junction. Then you'll start hearing shyt about expanding the subways deeper into Brooklyn.
