TV raised me, so yeah I remember this show. I was ten when it was on so I don't remember too much. I remember it not being all that funny despite the time slot. More serious in tone. My mom didn't like the show and didn't want me to watch it, probably because of the themes in the show. Haven't seen it since then, but I did read up on it. Show could have been so much more, it was like a less humorous Good Times. It should have been a straight drama. I like that early nineties Fox gave black shows a platform. Had it been an hour long social drama in the same vein as New York Undercover, it could have done numbers.

Show was too "Real" for America. Many people felt the show was depressing (which is the reality for many youth in America during the time). So the person when this got canceled they went back to the drawing board to tone it done and then came out with MOesha.

Make sense how Hakeem and the other chick are on both shows
